Doug Meyer radio interview
I read this on another board....
quote: Chat with Doug Meyer
Doug Meyer of Muzzy's will be my phone in guest on The Motorsports Show Thursday afternoon at 5pm on KKNW 1150AM. This is in the Seattle area. If you are far away you can send e-mailquestions to tms1150@yahoo.com. Doug, as you probably know, has a long and impressive career in motorsports with both two and four wheeled adventures - he built the engines for the UOP Shadow Can-Am cars and Formula 1 car years ago.
Doug rides a ZX12R on the street, which has been modified beyond the Power Commander and full Akro system mine has - he refers to 170 rear wheel hp as "a good start."
He has a lot of good info on what is coming from Muzzy's for the ZX10 and other sport bikes, and can answer virtually any question relating to sport bike mods - especially in the engine department.
For those of you who missed out on Sport Bike Northwest back in September, here is your chance to chat with a legend. Best call wins a $25 gift certificate to Cafe Veloce in Totem Lake.
Oh yes, the call-in number is (425) 373-5527. You can also listen to the show live on your computer at www.motorsportsshow.com

Is that the interview Doug admits he's working for the Russians and has a new HQ based near Roswell?

just listening to the end of the interview now. kinda funny to replace text with audio. suffice it to say i thought "i'v read THAT before" a few times during the interview. btw, where was our plug?!?
wannabe, doug was asked what he would do to build the ultimate bike if he had a blank chequebook. his response was, of course, to build his 12 about as far as it would go, or in other words the planned 12r based Raptor. further, he mentioned that zhool had in fact already done almost exactly that. one possible slight error, doug mentioned that zhool had CF bodywork, but at least when i saw the bike it did not. i actually asked about that, and zhool responded that he hadnt found a CF kit of a quality he was happy with. i took that to mean a matter of fit & finish primarily. i swung a leg over it briefly, but i dont think u really appreciate the weight savings when it isnt moving, esp because of the CF wheels. moreover, i was comin off my own bike which was missing all the bodywork, guages, etc, so it was down a few pounds as is. but man, did that bike look clean. better n showroom shine. u could really appreciate the work that went into keeping that bike pristine. suffice it to say i treat my 12 more like most people treat their dual sports.
on a more upbeat note, i had to chuckle when the question of the 10R came up. doug, u were SO careful to make it clear that the 10 is a great bike, just not the right tool for your particular riding style and preferences. and the first thing we hear is that is't a track only bike

actually, i realized something while walkin the dog last night. i believe doug was correct about zhool's bodywork. i believe he DID have CF bodywork at some point, but did go back to stock at some point, which is when i saw the bike (june i think).

Nope, never had CF. The only source of CF was Sebimoto at that time, and judging from the qual of the Sebimoto stuff I got from OPP, neither he nor I were going to contemplate the CF stuff. Since that time, CF bodywork is avail from A-Tech, and that is absolutely top notch. If anyone wants to see what ATech bodywork feels/looks like, I'll be handing over a set to Dino when he's up for the IMS.

Just out of curiosity, what ever happened to Zhooligan's bike? Is his family holding on to it as a remembrance?
