1.5 seconds off of fast time on his home track, We know he can do a little better, but there are a lot of others that can do a lot better! If he can qualify on the 3rd row, that in itself will be a victory!

I have an article in this month's Fast Bikes. Lots of inside info from an interview with Harold Eckl. Ie; the original plan was to share development with Suzuki, but that went over like a one winged jet with Marketing...So KHI had to rush into it. And that previewing the bike (racing it in Japan) was a real bad idea, because it created the impression that it was ready for prime time, which is pretty evident by now that it isn't...

I'll bet by the end of final qualifing, they'll be a good 2 seconds or better of the pace. They do have some issue's. Had the wrong tires to start with, could never get a good delopement period going. The bike wants to go straight when accelerated hard, and an on going battle of hooking the back wheel up. Hopefully they'll get away from the dunlops, and go with Briggstone or Michelen. McCoy has stated that the problem is not power but in the handling issue's. So there is hope!! ____________

Seems I've been getting bogus reports from time to time?

Looks like McCoy ended up getting 12th, about 1.5 sec behind Rossi. Not to bad considering!! Pitt is back in 21st, 2.5 sec behind Rossi. I sure hope Rossi makes his way to another team so the field will tight'n up.

Nicky... Yeah, Nicky did an awesome job!!! He rode his ass off and was battling it out with the big boys. He has really been improving these past few races. It was nice to see him ride really aggressive and battling for positions lap after lap. He even took the lead at one point!!! BUT, Valentino showed us all once again that he is the man. Yeah I know that Honda is an awesome bike blah bla blah blah.........
I say Valentino will be a threat no matter what he rides next season. I for one, hope that he doesn't ride for Honda again next year. I think it will spice up the series a little. (as if it needs it)
Those guys put on one hell of a show. I love watching them race. I did hate to see Bayliss crash, it looked NASTY. His teammate Loris did ok with a podium finish. (2nd) He was riding like a man on a mision too, only to watch Rossi fade off. He had that Ducati smoking the rear tire everytime he was turning onto the start/finish straight!!! ____________

Besides Rossi clearing off, it was a good race wasn't it? Was very nice to see an American on the podium again after many years USA riders missing...

Ok, now I'm looking forward to next year. With Rossi maybe going off to Yamaha, that's going to let some of the other guys come to the front. Expect to see Nicky up there a lot more often. I'm glad EBoz wasn't in it this year. He'd be in the same boat as Roberts & Hopkins. Next year? Maybe do some wild card rides to see if Kaw can ever get their shit together...

Rossi is amazing, isn't he? Ten second penalty - well, so he beat it. In MOTOGP. Sheet.
And hands up to Capirossi for the lead he had - wasn't it like 5 or 6 seconds in front of everybody else? That's damned good, too.
Rossi is just unreal. When he was fifth or so you could just TELL he was just waiting it out. Patient rider. Then when we was penalized he wicked it up a notch or two.
If he does go to Yamaha then things will get REAL interesting.
Nicky has really come a long way, eh? I watched the race while doing a track day yesterday. How cool is THAT??? Everyone in the room was a motorcycle racer and we were in the cafe overlooking the front straight. Awesome.
