What about running it to a bung in the exhaust system? I've seen car drag racers doing it for years. It MUST do something or they wouldn't do it...
As for the Kleen-Air system, chuck it & install block-offs leaving the reeds in for spacers. I warped my plates initially by removing the reeds; they are considered spacers.
The trick setup I've seen is during a port job, most guys just weld/epoxy up the hole in the exhaust port & forget about it. Chuck the reeds, everything...

quote: anyone know:
1. how many inches Hg it pulls?
2. how much it weighs?
3. how big it is?
I talked with FastByGas: they say their pump will pull 25# in theory, about 16# in practice. Weighs 4# and a little. HP gain should be 2-6 depending upon engine, in a 12, closer to 2 than 6. It is 3" in diameter, 5-6" long.
BUT: (this may be off)
15# change in bike wt = 1mph in 1/4mile speed
4hp increase to engine = 1mph in 1/4mile speed
Thus it would seem that the FBG vacuum pump would give a real performance increase but not huge (.5mph???)

the kleen air system works just like the evacuation system you have seen, but instead of 1 tube there is 4. I have yet to be in a 12 head there may be a way to modify it to draw a little more vac. but even if there is no gain hp wize. at least theres not hot contaminated air blowin in your intake

I have nothing to say here.
Hondo and I have discussed this at great length, and shared many idea's and results.
Personally, I also connected my crankcase evap. to the reed-valve area and have ALWAYS logged my drag race timeslips. I did not notice any gain at all.
You're probably better off ensuring your rear tire is pointing straight ahead, the chain is aligned, and that the chain is cleaned well and freshly oiled.
One other thing, I tried using some CLEAR hose from Lowes initially, but found that it was TOO flexible which made it susceptible to collapsing from the turns in the routing path up to the top of the engine.
I think getting it connected to a bung in the exhaust is the next step. Then I'll be happy.
