looks to me like the same amount of oil is already going in only thru the air box first. this way it will go strait to the exhaust. it looks simple enough. just looking for a few opinions

its hooked up thru the kleen air valve. creates vacuum under no load conitions. going to H deopt to get a peice of clear hose to run up along over flow tank to moniter oil blow by it will be a larger DIA. to act as separater

Horsepower?

Mo...You should theoretically get more horsepower as the vacuum in the crankcase should promote better ring seal. -ZXtra

looks like I have some block off plates to get rid of. I put all the kleen air parts back on including the reed valves but dont hook the vacuum to the KLn air valve its in the open position already disconect the crank case breather tube from the air box & plug hole then conect breather hose to the back of the kleen air valve, did several red line runs and still no sign of oil in the clear tube or no oil making it up to the exhaust. there should be a measurable HP gain! to do this same mod to any other engine would require alot of fabricating & $ were very lucky it falls together so easy. If your still not sure give me a few days to test and I will evaluate

10+ mi.,a couple 160+ runs & a bounce off the rev limiter. still no sign of oil in the inspection tube. under no load, seems to develop a lot of vacuum, under a load should develope more vac due to higher exaust speed, but also create more blow by.I read about this awhile ago I know there is more info out there?

KLEEN air/ crank case evacuation

I think the hot ticket for the ZX12 is to run the crankcase vent tub to the rear tail section with one of those tiny K&N filters on the end and let it vent naturally without any vacume or airbox preasure. I'm not sure that hooking it up to the kleen air system is the best thing to do. I need another beer!

entropy, Thanks for the info. After reading the suzukihayabusa board, I'm still going with my origional idea. I think naturally venting the crankcase is the best way to go.

KCAS

I made a simple adapter out of copper tubing fittings to replace the KCAS can. The reed valves are still intact for one way flow. Just in case one of them should break I put a simple PCV valve in the tubing to the reed valves. Sucks all the time, the tubing "pulsates" at RPM'S over 4K. I didn't know if it would suck shut so I put a screen door return spring inside the tubing. Can't hurt, the negative crancase pressure will help the ring's seal.

Valid concept, but the vac is not enough to yield any measurable power gain. You need a fairly large pump to do that.

I found the same results at doug. Valid concept but nothing worth mentioning as far a hp gains. Would love to get my hands on a real pump and play with it though.

how much vac do it take to make a difference?and if you had as much vac. as you wanted what HP gains would you see? if nothing else its better then hot air & oil in the intake.
