Waay off Topic! Credit @ McDonalds!!

I remember when the hambuger was 15 cents and french fries were 10 cents and then they came out with a fish sandwich for a quarter. The cokes were 10 and 15 cents and a shake was 20 cents. BTW, that was the entire menu.

I remember when someone said, "Can you imagine McDonalds selling HEALTH FOOD?" Now there are about 6 different kinds of Salads, The Hot Apple Pies are Baked and not fried, No lard on the French Fry Oil, and I get Grill Cheese sandwiches there!

Today I walked up to the counter and saw the Credit Card machines to swipe your card! Is nothing sacred anymore??

I went to a "Burger King" last week and got a Vegetarian sandwich and a Salad!

Our local McD's has had the self-service ATM style order counter that accepts credit and debit cards for about a year now. Kind of interesting, it's a touch-screen ordering system and self-service: order, pay, then goto a designated pickup area. No counter lines or english translator required! I dig it! At least they get my order right now! I'm convinced they should just have touch-screen picture based menus instead of verbal communication because an english speaking translator is never available when you need one!

burger king here has taken credit/debit for at least... 5 years now? maybe more. kinda sad really, but i can definitely see the use.

as to the menus, from a veggie's standpoint they're still pretty poor, but i aint complaining. at elast they got SOMETHING now. mcdonald's veggie burger is barely palatable, but it's getting better. when they introduced it i couldnt even finish it. was horrible. burger king's veggie burger is to die for! by far the closest i'v ever tasted to real hamburger meat. tastes jsut like the shitty commercial mass produced fast food crap hamburgers i used to love eating they need to make the patty at least twice the size tho. not all practicers of the veggie diet are doing so to keep off the pounds. but salad?? aint no way i'm payin that kinda money fer a lousy salad.

You there isn't acutally vegetables in those burgers don't ya? They are made of lips and assholes just like hotdogs but made to taste like vegetable burger meat that is made to taste like real burger meat. That's the scam.

Vince.. I only remember MickeyD's from when they first started breakfast.
Basically with $3.. you could eat like a king.
Cheapest I remember is WhiteCastles for $.21 each.
I had a friend that got drunk one Friday night and had to work at McDonalds the next morning. He vomited all over the fry area bin. They had to close for a few hours...lol
I remember being 10 and BurgerKing had a salad bar.. and for $1.50 you could buy a pita to put salad in. So me and my friend ponied up $.75 each and ordered one with extra wax paper. Some lady yelled at us cause we made multiple trips to the salad bar with the same pita...lol. We told her to bug off... bitch
Sorry.. we were poor back then.

You Guys Bergie, The Translation Part Otis, no offense, but one of the ways I always know how bad the economy is, is when the people at McDonalds start speaking English! (Some with Masters and PHD's) I may be a Vegeterian, but I always thought it was safe to eat a McDonalds Burger because it had no meat! I was trying to remember who had the Baked Patato (Should I add the "e" ) I have yet to see a McDonalds Veggie Burger! Where do you live? My Boss says that the place that sells the Cajun Chicken Popeye's has had credit cards for over a year..

We need to eat better, we all seem to know way to much about these places!

TB, I have said that there is one word in the English language I would remove is "Embarassed" Horrible word! People say, I would be to embarassed to ga back for seconds! I would be embarassed to take this back! I think it was a word invented by rich people to keep poor people poor! As you can see, I have almost removed it from my language and to be so young that it was Breakfast you remember! I was already Old when that happened!!

I have eated the Burger King Veggie Burger. It could be a lot worse! If you do not eat meat, then you have to like Ketchup! Otherwise, some of the food I eat before I fry it smells and looks like "Dog Food"! The WHite Castles were .12 cents 3 for a quarter and 6 for .50 cents I think! More onion than burger! I have never eaten one.

vince, i have no idea about the mcD veggie burger in the US. i'm in canada. it's jsut a 1/4 pounder size bun (whole wheat tho) with the usual fixins and a Yves garden burger patty. at least it's a decent size. but it's not a meat imitation patty like burger king. the reason it tased so foul in teh beginning was they didnt know how to cook it. raw on teh inside, overcooked & dry (hard) on the outside). it's edible now that they've got it right. just make sure u get a fresh one. disgusting when it's sat fer a while. best veggie friendly burger i'v ever had tho? Lentil burger (who'da thunk?) at a little independant joint called Splitz Grill in whistler. DAMN that thing is good. gooped in some kinda spicy sauce. HUGE too. hmm.. i coudl use one now...

yeah vince, i a veggie. i have to echo madmike is saying i wouldnt have thought u were of the veggie persuasion. go figure. no fish for me, but i aint hard core either. every couple months i may have a couple bites of meat or that filet of fish (usually cause i cant get anything else). sure as hell aint vegan. those people are nuts! ur left with very little to eat. just an ethical thing for me. no religious reasons, no health reasons.

as to the burger, the disgusting part was actually the overcooked, dried outside. it felt like stuffing ur mouth with desiccant.

and mike, damn straight its hard not to dive into a nice steak! used to be (still am really) a huge meat lover. few things in live better than a good medium-rare steak with baby mushrooms & garlic bread. but alas, i'v chosen no longer to partake

Most people think "How can you get to be that big fat and Ugly" Gravity and time made me Ugly! The other part was , like when you see a puppy with huge feet, you know he is going to be big! I had the same size head I have now, so everyone knew I was going to be big one day! WHen I started College, I was 5'3" and about 125 pounds with the same size head I have now One lady's Home cooking did it! Took the Kernels of wheat and made flower to make bread! WOW! I grew up as an Adventist and never ate meat (including fish) so it was religion to begin with! I tried a lot of things and love Crab and Lobster but do not eat them anymore (99% of the time) but I really do not like eating meat! I can go to the store and buy anything I want either frozen or in a can Vegetarian from weiners, Chicken steaks and burgers and chops all made with no meat!

How can anyone get to my size! Isn't there something called the Atkins Diet where you avoid Carbs! I love the Carbs! No meat in Baskin Robins Ice Cream, No Meat in German Chocolate cake or Potato's or Bread or Cheese!

I get a "Grilled Cheese" usually at McDonalds! The take the Hambugger Bun and turn it inside out with 2 pieces of cheese and on the grill or in the big mac toaster! I am good to go them!

mike, wholeheartedly agree on the not shovin it down everyone's throat part. i hate preachy people, whether they be veggies, environmentalists, whatever. live the way u wanna live, offer up ur take on things when it's appropriate, but dont go tellin people what they shoudl be doin whenever u see em. live and let live after all right? many/most people i know dont know i'm a veggie cause i dont go tellin everyone. i mean, when's the last time u had a meat eater tell u "oh yeah, i eat meat. u shoudl too"? same thing (on a bigger, more political scale) is true of many homosexuals. they have pride parades & are always crusading for awareness etc. and i care why? do i parade around pride that i'm straight? i dont give a rat's ass what u are.

if i sound a bit bitter, its cause i am. the highschool i went to was very mixed in terms of race. got no problem with that. what i DO have a problem with is the whining u keep hearing from every group about how they're rights are being trampled on etc when it's complete bullshit. it got to the point that every imaginable holiday from every national background had a display in the lobby. again, no problem with that, it makes it kinda interesting and, appropriately enough at school, educational. what did get my goat tho is that enough people whined that they were offended by teh christmas display that it was no longer allowed. wtf?!? everyone pushes their holidays but xmas aint allowed? yeah, that made sense.

so the whole point is, i fully beleive in live & let live. just makes sense to me. and i'm getting all riled up over politics (as always happens) so i'm gonna shut up now

Actually there is one group of people that I have no complaint when I hear then make statements "The Native Americans" A European got lost on his way to India and called them Indians! If anyone has a Gripe, they do!

On the Mini Web Site, it makes me appreciate this place all the more! I was censored for the Word "piss" and another guy was sensored for the word "Wankel" (as in Rotary engine) The sensor is British and they use the work Wanker! Next, I questioned going 10,000 miles on the "Original" oil you get to break in the car. I finally found someone that had left his in and sent him and Oil Sample kit. Believe it or not, the results came back, leave it in for more sampling (At least 3,000 more miles!) When I said I would not leave it in like thatn they were on me about the enviroment (I use a recycling station) and everything else! They have some good people, but the censorship is out of site!

Now Back to McDonalds! and changing things! I remember going to the "Expensive" movie and paying $0.50 instead of the cheaper ones that were $0.25 and $0.35

I try not to eat chicken or fish. Unless it's once in a blue moon really good sushi. I don't eat Pork, Crab, lobster or squid.
When I eat meat I like it red and I like it rare.
I will eat domestic turkeys - cause they are dumb. And seem to have been put on this earth to eat.

I am glad McD started taking credit cards. Cause y'all in the USA seem to like writing cheques for everything - are you insane? Have you been behind a woman at McD writing a cheque for her 5.49 meal? I have and it sucks!

Burger King serves a 'Veggie Burger' that is a burger without the meat - just lettuce and tomato in a bun with mayo - yummy!
