Yea I think we need a more versatile bike for the street like maybe a Eddie Lawson Replica after a 75 pound diet and a non-detuned zx12r engine. Or maybe a zx9r with a non-detuned zx12r engine. Or how about the old Eliminator with a non-detuned zx12r engine and chain driven. Or heck, how bout a zx12r with 75 less pounds? I've got a deposit on a 10r but I get the feeling it might just be too small in size to be very versatile. But hey I've got to have the power. I like to ride two up sometimes, will the 10r work for that??? Any opinions, will I be able to ride two up??? Or should I just buy a 12r?? HELP!!!!!!!!!

oh yea I did have a 2000 Hayabusa but it was just too porky (heavy) for my liking. (I'm 5'11" 200lbs). So what is it? Should I get the 10r or opt for the 12r??????

It might be to small, just look at the 636 and ride that. Same bike just less power than the 10R.

Add a lil bore and stroke to the 10 motor, 2 peice lowers with current 10 chassis and brakes, same front wheel and mebbe a 3 spoke rear wheel.
Lil wider and taller upper for some protection - I mean aerodynamics for some of us bigger riders, extend the upper to almost be as wide as the bars and a memory foam or stiffish gel seat.

I've always wondered why KHI never took a crack at Duc and built a nice twin....

Probably because of what they learned about the weak sales of the TL1000 & RC51. Although I actually really liked both those bikes. I still think a twin sounds the best at full boogie with aftermarket exhaust.

i just want a ZX12R with Radial brakes and wave rotors and stainless steel brake lines, lightweight 5 spoke wheels, less 50lbs, and bars that are 1 inch higher, and 1 inch back. it has enough power for me already, I just want the good brakes, and light weight. oh and a really comfortable seat. Keep that under $11,000 and I am in. Would sell my w12 tomorrow and buy a new one.

HDL The '04 model has atleast those radial brakes and new FI. I think that those make the trade more and more considered. And that the '00 is 4 years old.

...but there's only one 2000 ZX-12R....only one year 'first' year in spite of all the negative 'moto-media' mashing that it got when it came out, but us 12R enthusiast, keepers of the faith, and those who ride this bike know what's up...just like a 'crude' keeper Cobra 427SC, I'd find a way to keep it (since its paid off anyway) and find a way to get the an '04 ZX-12 if I want an improved 12R...or a ZX-10R...or a lusty sport-twin of some sort...that's just me....
...oh yeah...a 75lb lighter 12R WITH BETTER BODY FASTENERS and A BIG-ASS DIGITAL SPEEDO and BRIGHT ASS SHIFT LIGHT and FAN OVER-RIDE SWITCH and I'm definitely in!!! ____________ “We sleep safe in our beds because rough men

470 lb wet weight, ergonomics similar to VFR or better,
170 rear wheel HP, well controlled tempreture of the engine
(so that can be used in city driving),
better back seat, possibly adjustible bar height
possibly the EFI switch for dIfferent riding styles.
250 miles on one tank of gas,
30 inch seat heigth
a wheel base lenght that is better for high way riding than
a race track,
optional hardbags,
adjustible footpeg position

A 12R with a 1 inch lower seat height, ( I have a 30 inch inseam), dry weight around 420, 6 gallon to 6.5 gallon fuel tank, Range ya gotta have it 160-175 miles per tank getts awfully tiring! lower swing arm pivot point longer swingarm (better traction) works for the 10R from what I have read. Don't need to go to a 60 inch swing arm, not from the factory at least. Don't know what to do about the head shake but iron that out. Power plant seems to work fine, but more traction means we will need more power to help break it loose though! Supercharger??? Same displacement??? Turbo would be nice but too much political red tape! Adjustable clip on's, pegs. Slipper clutch!!! ZZRR Styling!?!? I personally like the way the 12 looks so could go wither way. EXL, am i going in the right direction???

I still think a 12r engine (not detuned) in a eddie lawson replica. How about updating the 500 ninja with a half of a zx10r engine? or a zx12r powered eliminator with chain drive. (a real v-max eater).

Bleed Green I may be wrong, but I have to ask...how is a lower swingarm pivot going to give you better traction? I always thought that if ya wanted traction, then you went to a higher pivot and a longer arm so increase the range of Motion of the arm. Once the swingarm goes horizontal to the ground you get tire spin. I thought that is why drag racers lowered and lenghthened? Longer arm and lowered bike makes wheelies much harder and allow a harder acceleration.
Ok you guys need to school me here. Everything I read on these new bikes is all about raising the swing arm pivots and making them longer? I thought ath is why the new Honda's inluding the RC211V has such a long swing arm on it?

The latest issue of Sport Rider gives a pretty good explanation of designing for anti-squat tendencies.
