Best Route from Detroit to the Smokies
I've ridden down twice from the Detroit area to the Smokies, and I-75 is probably the most boring 600 mile drone to take to Knoxville. Anybody from the Midwest area know the best or most scenic route to take to the Smoky Mountains area from Detroit? Does 23(S) go all the way? I plan to ride down next spring/summer, and would hate to do the I-75 route again. I do not have a trailer.
I've also heard that roads in S.E Ohio are pretty good too. Anybody know of some good routes there? I can stop by Columbus and hit some roads there.

Here's The Route We Took.....
We originated in Dayton OH and planned a 2-day trip down and 1-day coming back. We stayed just outside of Gatlinburg in a cabin. We didn't do any SE OH but we did do a lot of SE KY down to western VA into TN. If you want to include a good long SE OH route I suggest Rt 555 thst starts just south of Zanesville. Very challenging that road has lots of tight turns and hills and has claimed several of my riding buddies. WV has even nicer roads if you care to travel that far east on your journey. Here is the route we took to Deal's Gap. Let me know if you want some suggested roads in WV, I'll dig them out.
Peace
