Back from the trip!!!(also calling ra12r)

Over 7000kilometers(=4375miles) don't have the exact number checked yet and had the sppedo on 320kph on a little headwind but also a little downhill... Was also able to get to over 3000m altitude. Something like 3015m(=9891ft). Allthough I had to ride over an hour of gravel to get there(Punta Sommailler to those whose interested). My brother was there half un hour earlier with KTM 640 Adventure and was able to get to maybe 3030m... Also some sun on the BArcelona and yesterday came to home. Bike worked nice - almost. During the last 2000km I came up with a problem in the tranny. After first to second it is hard to change the gears up and maybe like one out of three times the shift faills and I have to make a new try. It feels like the lever is hitting brickwall - it just wont shift. This happens more when the engine is hot - like after tankfull of riding over 200kph(=125mph) :-) and in the morning when it is cold it works almost normally. So do any of You have any clues whats wrong. I think that it could be the shift forks have worn too much. And then I remembered somebody had changed them(ra12r) and said that they can be changed without too much of work, ie splitting the cases etc. So does this sound like the shift forks need replecing or something other(and more expensive). The tranny works fine for downshifting - or atleast much better than upshifting. And ra12r could You have any tips of changingthe forks? There are photos but most of them are still under construction but they'll show some time.

Hmmm,,,,,,,,hitting a brick wall "after" 1st to 2nd or actuallly when you are shifting "into" 3rd gear....... It almost sounds like the shift fork is not tracking well in the drum. It is a long throw to 2nd, but I do have issues hitting 3rd with my air shifter more than 2nd at the track.... It has been a year since i was really there in my head so...But it certainly is shift fork related. There are 3 forks. The fix can be done without removing the motor, but you will need to be proficient and have a service manual. Riders that shift with less clutch under acceleration(more aggressive riding) will have their forks wear out the quickest....is that you?!

Well I meant that 1 to 2 it always shift good, but after that ie 2 to 3 or 3 to 4 or 4 to 5... It sometimes dosen't shift. And as said it usually only happens after the engine is hot. And yes I have the manual and allready looked to it and it seem to doable. And by the way the bike has over 72k km(=45k miles) so I count it to normal wear. So this winter I hope get it fixed.
