Anyone watch MotoGP yesterday?

That race kicked ass! Best damned race I've seen all year! Two hondas and two ducatis slugging it out for the lead! Bayliss was right in there the whole time!

Even "Nick Harris" (The better of the 3 that call the race) was cool! Started out by telling the one guy not to talk about the clouds! (Possible Rain) After the race was over, You could hear him catch his breath! WOW!!! it was a race where it was not crashing that made you the winner, but who could stay on the tip of the Knife edge the longest! Bayliss got more respect from me in that race than his entire Super bike carrer! Even when the Duc Broke, the guy kept it under control! I do not think I want to see better racing! My heart could not take the pressure! What Happened to Max Biaggie

Max just slipped back. He blamed it on the short amount of time that his team had for setup prior to the race. Nicky Hayden was chewing on him for fifth!

Killer Race........

Definitely one of the better races I've seen this year. It was so cool seeing Sete, Valentino, & Troy duking it out. You gotta hand it to Bayliss, he did an awesome job and deserved the podium finish. He's doing great this year, and so is that Ducati. It is a wickedly fast scoot for sure.

Antron Brown beat the Kawasaki. They actually showed all of the bike races!! I was suprised...... Michael Phillips took out the points leader in the first round.

The Moto GP race was AWESOME!! Best race all year for sure.

Thanks charles! I too was surprized and the fact that they even showed slo mo several times of some races and interviewed the winners and Loosers! I saw that Angelle was in Tears again! Now that she has a sponser, and is 100% her fault / In her control why she is getting beat! I am glad to see Brown finally win one!

If this was on another site, I guess we would have to hear a mouth full from some Nutcase over there! The Harleys (If you want to call them that) did not do so well!

Go figure....they never interviewed Michael Phillips when he beat Geno Scali. MP cut a .003 light on him.... Lots of other CLOSE races too. . I saw a bunch of "holeshot" wins yesterday. Don't usually see that as the guys are always so close to redlighting. Craig Trieble did for the second time this year. Also the first time Angelle has lost four times in a row (first round losses, that is).........since she has a new Sponsor, I think she's stressing!! Or PMSing!!!

The motogp race was killer! Rossi has some competition this year, and from more than just one person. I am impressed with Ducati, running at the front in only there first year in MotoGP. This is a wake up call to Suzuki, Kawasaki, and Aprilia.

How did Michael Phillips end up doing. I know him, he is from my hometown.

Congrats to Nicky for chomping up all be the very best...was Rossi playing around until the end? I don't see him making that many mistakes very often, was he just toying around with Sete & Troy? Only he knows for sure...

Now, my question for Wind Tunnel that I can't get thru to:

Should the HON & DUC have restrictors/weight placed on them ah la NASCAR to even out the field? I think so, yes...I would like to see the SUZ, KAW, APL, PRO all in the hunt too....

First, he beat the points leader........
W) Michael Phillips (Suzuki) 0.003 7.345 180.62
(L) Geno Scali (Trim-Tex Suzuki) 0.074 7.309 178.38

Then, got beat by Antron who went on to win.....
(W) Antron Brown (US Army Suzuki) 0.010 7.368 175.80
(L) Michael Phillips (Suzuki) 0.032 7.402 173.38

I've raced Michael a few times at Hallsville and Houston. He is a pretty cool dude. He like Zuks though!! That V&H short Busa he had is rolling!!

No restrictors!! May the best man/ team/machine win!!

Yeah, I read where they are restricing the C5-R vette in the LeMans series. That's bullshit.

Restrictor plates are crap.

Not yet. Other teams need to step it up!! Rules are plainly outlined, so the others need to stop BSing and put some effort into winning like Honda and Ducati have! If they want to play, they gotta PAY!!

ugh the day they start restricting the gp bikes, is the day the sport dies. i HATE that they restrict the superbikes. it is SOOO ghey.

no longer is it who can build the best bike, but who can get away with the bare minimum r&d and stillcompete, because their competition is saddled with restrictions. i like close racing, but artificially close racing is crap.

ie if every bike out there is the same, then yes, it showcases rider skills. BUT some riders are better able to utilize a particular trait of their bike, while others can use something else.

if all the bikes are exactly the same, you penalize any rider that doesn't, for instance, powerslide into every corner if that is the fast way to make the bike go.

yeh it would be nice if kawi and suzuki and all could build a fast bike. and they CAN, it is just a matter of them deciding to cut the BS politics and build a friggin bike.

restricting them all to the same thing would be death to the sport as a sport.

look at nascar. nothing consistant there, every time i hear race results, someone else has won a race. yeh there are certain ones that do so more often, but still. it is boring.

like the gp races. yeh, sure rossi wins a lot of them, most of them last year. but, watching him do wild and crazy stuff to GET to the front is always amazing. and this year proves that the other manufacturers are indeed stepping up their R&D. granted, they are a year behind, but still. the gauntlet has been thrown.

being mad because a particular brand has been at front for several years is daft. there are always periods when one particular manufacturer has a really good setup and rider combination, and can do well for yeras running. but always someone else comes up with a way to get them off the top. and every year theat they stay there, the more the rest WANT and WORK to topple them. and that IMHO is what makes the sport so great.

restrictor plates are crap. i have to agree. if your competitor requires a performance reduction for you to compete, then YOU need to explore what YOU are doing wrong, not dictate that someone else dumb themselves down to your level.

yup...a bit "daft" I am maybe....I was hoping to stir the pot a smidge...

I'm just tired of seeing the two green bikes at the back this season. As long as I've been going to the races (do you remember Baker on a TZ750 & Cooley on a Z-1 at Laguna?) ...Honda has always outspent the competition in massive amounts of cubic dollars to gain riders/machinery/wins/championships/technology, those points taken -I agree. Good for HON. I also think Gardner, Spencer, Doohan, Lawson, & a few others would tend to agree w/you...

No I don't like restrictors/weights either, but WHAT can be done to level the field? Sadly history proves the smaller efforts won't win in GP anywayz...
