Pirelli Diabolo review
...not to be confused with the Diabolo Corsa.
The front held up very well during cornering and what not. But braking could make the tire slide - BUT it would give plenty of warning of the limit with screeching (hmmmm...kinda like my ex wife). However, during cornering both tires held fine with no discernable sliding.
The rear tracked well but it was easy to spin it on exits. Too easy. In fact, I had to really cut back on the throttle I could give coming out of exits or else I'd be dirt-tracking that bastard through the apex.
Turn in was great - even switching to a 190 from a 180 BT-010. Very linear response to lean input.
But after 1200 miles and toasting the rear tire the front looked good and absolutely no cupping.
The tires were quite predictable and consistant throughout the wear cycle (unlike the BT-010's IMO).
Corsas are next. If they continue with the handling of the regular Diabolos but also have increased grip - they will be nice.
Elk has had a chance to put some miles on his Corsas. He kinda likes 'em from what I've heard.

How in the world do you get the thing flicked over at all on a 190, let alone the 180 on a 6" rim? I run the 200 stones (BT012SS) and still run to and off the edge, even on the street. It's better when running her @ 30lbs, but then she's kinda squirrely on the straights. What is your secret of getting the small tire to work?

I don't know what it is about Jonathan's riding style, but I've seen him not just drag a peg, but plastic, kickstand and gear shifter on his 12R, while running a 180/55 on a 6" rim. I'm guessing that he was running about 34 psi in it at the time.
The funny thing is that anyone that has rode with him (including several folks on this forum at DG-V) will testify that he's anything but a "banzai/kamikaze" rider. Actually, his riding style would be best described as "smooth as water". Makes me sick when I'm even close enough to watch (which isn't often).

Actually my best time on my bike was on Pirelli's. I think I am going to "stick" with them for now.

K, I don't think there's enough cornering clearance on a 180 as there is on a 190. The rim pushes out the edges, IMHO.
But on a 190 the shorter profile allows as much if not more lean angle, in my book. I've run out of tire on a 180 before, but not on the 190.
Try the 190 one time. You just might like it.
