Questions about short term lease of a car/ truck?
Say you wanted to do a road trip fer a month and you wanted to put the miles on someone elses car/ truck.... obviously it would cost way too much to rent a truck or car for a month and they prolly wouldnt let you take it out of state.....
so do you think you could lease a car or truck for one month so you could put like 3-5000 miles on the thing?
Anyone ever done this>?

they also have restrictions on the mileage of leased cars
so thats an unlikely option
whenever i rented a car
i always rented with unlimited mileage
as long as i returned it to the original station
ive put 3000+ on it in a week.......nothing said
hadnt in a while
we all know things change
that might have also

i'd say go for the rental. i'v rented a full size car with unlimited mileage for a week for under $200 if i remember correctly. i think it was from Dollar in richmond (where all those rentals are jsut south of the airport). discount (or is it enterprise? they're right next the the nizzan dealership on marine in north van) are pretty cheap too, esp for weekends.

Well, Imma give you some tips.
If you can find an agency that will rent you something cheap enough for 30 days... if you know the model and year of the car... I can get you the wiring schematic to disable to the speedo sensor. 
There are lots of Ryder trucks and vans that have more miles than showing on the odo. The digital ones are the easiest to defeat.

hey turbo.... most rentals that have geographic limitations have GPS units hidden in them now... I've read and heard several accounts of people getting nailed huge coin for taking them out of the "zone of operation"...
just not worth it...
Specifically I want to rent a 3/4 ton pickup that I could take the dirt bikes down the coast to the baja at xmas time... I havent found anyone that rents trucks like that yet and I'm pretty connected that way for rentals etc.... that's why I'm thinking lease perhpas? $400 for one month would be a whole lot cheaper than 30 bucks a day
