The bottomless pit of power...
Well... we just got back from Sportbikewest and the 12 was amazing yet again!
It really just doesnt stop pulling.... entertaining it is to put it in sixth at about 100kmh (60mph) and just roll the throttle on..... It just keeps pulling and pulling... . very entertaining indeed...
Gotta know it's the end of the season when you feel like you could get off and run beside the bike if you've been made to slow down to 60mph cuz of traffic!

know what u mean fish. tried out mattie_k's rc this weekend finally and tho it was incredibl compared to the 12 in many ways, it doesnt have that hit, that sheer power. or at least it doesnt feel like it.
end of the season for me too. put the bike away on the way home. needs tires & an inspection, and both of those items are too $$ for my "welfare sport" blood  . it's all right tho. this is the big thing i do all summer with the bike. livin in vancouver i dont even use the bike besides goin to meet someone for a coffee or groceries so it's hardly a huge loss.

...heh heh heh...we have no 'season' here in SoCal, but we definitely have all kinds of reason to ride...pavement or dirt...your choice

Jeez. It's almost riding season 'round here all year long. December and January MIGHT have good days for riding if the sun is out and not real cold (colder than 50 F and our thin Southerner blood can't take it).
Man. That's early.

what? there's about 2 mos left here.. .I'd say that's almost over.... I could ride it longer but this year I have a new toy fer the "rest" of the season... the DR-Z ....
I have found that, although it never really gets "cold" here (compared to the rest of the continent) our Climate would be more like LA or Oregon... that when the highs get to be around 49/ 50 in the "winter" the tires just dont heat up enough to "hook up".... so why bother? Insurance on the thing is a friggin fortune and I can ride the DR-Z and have be totally entertained.

...really?...wow, I am lacking in my geographical/meteorlogical skills/knowledge... my brain not so beeeg ...it actually snows down here at the higher elevations...jato12 and I put in some cold-ass break-in miles on our 12Rs on snow-bordered roads...beautiful but scarey...and I have a sneaking suspicion that I'll be riding my KLR on the snow-covered trails up in the mountains this winter...then maybe go surfing before the sun sets...how nutz is that???
