First time through Cherahola I was behind Mark - now he's telling me with that Penske shock and 7R swingarm I better get a damned good look at that license plate - it'll be the last time I see it.
Damn, I cracked up.
Sherm just put on the Diabolo Corsas so no real indicator for tire wear. I have the Diabolos and about 1500 miles on the rear and it's about toasted. The front looks real good, though, and isn't cupped at all.
Regular Diabolos are not sticky enough. I could leave darkies with the 010's but the Diabolos are quicker to spin up than the 010's. I'm putting a Corsa on next.
But if I show up with H2's on the 12R, it's ON.

No, I've heard good things about them, though. I hear they are basically the same as the Diabolos or Diabolo Corsas - not sure which one.
If they are like the regualr Diabolos no thanks. Not sticky enough. After re-reading the reviews of them everyone was consistent with saying there wasn't enough grip on the rear exiting corners.

Interesting.........
Well I can say for certain that the only tire that has given the level of grip I actually need is the Supercorsa. Everything else is a compromise IMHO. But you compromise with the Supercorsa too. You know it ain't gonna last, and it shouldn't. IMHO, the M1 is the equal of an 010(or vice versa), I really don't think there is enough difference in the two tires to actually say one is better than the other. I still say that the 010 is overlooked by a lot of riders. Between the two of them I'll buy whatever is the cheapest at the time and have no reservations about doing it.
I've yeilded a few more miles out of the Sportecs, but I've lost 60lbs. too. So once again I have no problem running either tire.

The 010's have great grip. Only thing is the front wants to cup early. Then once you are halfway through your second rear it starts to handle funny.
I tried the 011 front (made for the Gix1k and 'busa and 12) but since my shop mounted it BACKWARDS I didn't really get much mileage out of it. But, it handled pretty well.
I'm going to see how the Diabolo Corsa does, then I'll try the M1's. If I'm not happy for any reason then I'll try the 010 rear and 011 front combo again.
Front Diabolo looks good after roasting rear tire - the 010 would begin cupping by now. Haven't experienced any front wheel slides - but I know I can't brake as hard with the Diabolo so I'm careful about trail braking more.
Shoulda just gone with the Corsas to begin with. *sigh*

Man........
Brother I can relate about the 010 fronts wanting to cup real bad. I had one on my bike that was cupped so bad all my buddies were calling it the "Alligator" tire. MF sounded like a mudgrip off Sherman's truck when I was banked over!!! I may try the 011f-010r combination myself. The M1 front definitely doesn't cup like the 010 did. I ran 3 010 fronts I believe.

Ok,....I'll admit I backed off the pace that day. Honestly I did, but get with a brother for a minute. I put that piece o' shit 200 rear on after running the entire week on 180s. I hated the way the bike felt, still do,....AND I had witnessed Bart bouncing off a wall at the gap, then Hyder goes off a cliff, then your retarded ass lowsides on the gap!!!! Even though I backed off the pace some that day, I was very proud to have fuckin' hauled the mail all week long, partied like crazy every night from Sunday to Friday, with no tickets, no get offs, and the bike looked just as it did when I loaded it up before the trip. Summary: I viewed it as a great success, even though I was off the pace 1 day. You fuckers still followed me and had a damned fun time doin' it!!!! So quit yer bitchin!!! Oh yeah......Bart still couldn't have passed me ya fuckstick!!!!

Got 100 yards out of my new Dunlozeler, and it's worn down to the beads on each side, but the middle is still like new.
But seriously, switched to Dunlop Pilot Sports, cos I heard they last longer - they seem OK so far, only had a screech one tim ein a corner... sop no way I'm going the extra 3mm to get to the edge!

dam Rick....your running a 180 and tha tis all the faster you are???? Hell I am still running 200's.....I am gonna have to play with the air pressure though. I was getting some plow in the front end up in Suches the last time we were up there. I am running 33 in the front and 34 in the back. When it was plowing on me I stopped and checked the front, it had 26, no wonder I couldnt turn the dam thing....I am going to have to try a 180 on it. If it make that hoss turn any faster that would be a good thing. Is it going to give me any kind of handleing problems?
where can I find me some of dem dar Dunlop Pilot Sports? do they come in the HPX too?

Fuck a 200
HDL,
If you never ever listen to anything I tell you again,....fine. But just this once listen. Go get a 180 rear (Brand o' yer choice) and just enjoy it bro. Not only will yer bike work much better, you just saved a few bucks.
I won't go into all the details other than:
I used to be a huge supporter of the 200, figured a bike with mucho bhp needed a monster tire out back.
Thanks to Lucky, who is much faster than me AND has 20+ bhp on me, for making me see the light.
I ran 2 180s back to back, Supercorsa & M1 Sportec, loved them both. Had a new 200 as a backup tire @ the gap. Needed it after a few days, and have hated the way my bike feels EVER since I put that damned 200 on!!!!!!! Got a new 190/55 Supercorsa for "part" of the gap trip, but am about to order a 180 M1 or 010 too.
Once again FUCK a 200, anyone who has made the switch will tell you.

I think i am gonna order a 180 Pilot....not sure if I can get that in an HPX...I dont like to mix and match tire brands....I know that it is all in my head, but that is how I do it....I have Pilot HPX's on it now...120/70 and a 200/50 the rear is gonna be toast soon. I think it will make it to the gap, but i dont think it will make it from the gap...so I will order a 180 HPX(?) and try it out....What would the difference between a 180 and a 190 be as far as handleing?

I've gone from a 180 back to a 190.
Initial turn in is quicker on a 180 for sure. But not by much.
HOWEVER....
It is my experience that once the bike is leaned over a bit I had to really stand on the pegs to get it to pitch in - so it was easy to get over, and quickly ... up to a point. Then it got more difficult.
On the 190 I feel that the turn in a only a BIT slower than the 180 BUT I am rewarded with a more linear response to steering input plus I KNOW I have more tire for increased lean angles.
By the way - you'll notice the difference in lean angle/steering input at stupid cornering speeds for the street. So if you are a 2x +10 posted curve speed limit man (i.e. 60 mph in a 25 curve), you might wish to opt for the 190.
The 180 does, and will work fine. Try it out and if you begin to run out of tire often you might wish to try the 190.
I switched because I ran out of tire in a turn and had the rear end wash out on me at about 80+ right next to a guardrail.

see I have had that happen on a 200 series tire....got over on the side up on War Woman rd. and all of a sudden ther was no rear tire. I cut the throttle abruptly and it tried to pitch into a highside....got it back, but it scared the begeezus out of me. that is one of the reasons I never went to a 180 or 190. I am using most all of a 200. Even now out here in the flat lands I am getting to the arrows on the Pilots.......I think I may try a 190 first and step down gradually, and see if I run into problems.....any ideas fellas?

OK I've been taking in all of these varying opinions on rear tire sizes and personally like the 190s over the 200 but what I want to know is if anyone has any experience to share with respect to the front tire size. When I was driving my 9R I went to a 60 series front and it noticably improved the quickness of the steering and it still felt securely planted . I went to the 60 series on the 12, it feels like what JonWright said, running out of tire. The front feels like it want to wash out when I have it cranked over in tight turns especially when getting back on it while exiting. FYI I'm currently running 010s and not very inpressed with them. I liked the Dunslops better. I'm experimenting with the 010s because everyone say they last longer and my Dunlops were getting trashed sometimes with 1800 miles on them. The 010s are lasting longer but they don't inspire much confidence. SO, what do the tire trashers have to say about the 60 series fronts???? Inquiring minds want to know!?!?!?
