BBT Just Left .....................................
Yep, nice way to start the week. BBT just dropped off a large box here at the office. It's my stuff from Street & Comp. (a place Bart hooked me up with) A nice new set of Supercorsas, soft front, hard rear, & a new set of EBCs for the front.
I love these tires, too bad I can't make 'em last any longer. I'd love to ride on these all the time. They will let you know just how shitty the tire you're running really is. If I'd never ran them I wouldn't know the difference. FUCK YOU LUCKY, YOU WORTHLESS HILLBILLY BASTARD!!!!! Anyone care to guess how many miles they'll last me??????? My guess is 700mi. tops.
The latest highpoint in tirewear was 1325 out of an M1 rear. Take my word when I say it was friggin' shot when I pulled it off at the Gap trip in may. It was babied the first few hundred miles of it's life. It looked like hammered hell when I pulled it off, but in all honesty the tire still worked great.

For Sale.........
Used 180/55 M1 Sportec, low miles, just scuffed in. Plenty of riding left on this tire. Buyer pays shipping.

Trying Diablo's on my rig. Just not damned sticky enough. Dirtrackin' the rear end on exits and front couldn't brake too hard (but I don't GP style brake on the street anyway).
Going to try Diabolo Corsa for rear. On Sherm's bike they seem to stick much better.
Just couldn't drop the coinage for Super Corsas. Going to put H2's on my little 600 for the track.

I know................
quote: Just couldn't drop the coinage for Super Corsas.
They do think a lot of them eh??? Even with a racer discount the things were $350 before shipping. Couple that with the fact that they will "evaporate" under me in no time flat and it is almost depressing. The upside is that they be some grippy biatches, and work better than anything I've ever ran.

Yeah Otis, I was in dire need of some stopping power too. My pads weren't really up to snuff at the last event, using more effort than I'd have liked to. Hopefully these new pads will get me back where I need to be.

Rick what is with all the tread that you left on the sides?????? I cant imagine the piss poor mileage you get out of Corsa's on the street on a 12...I get shit mileage out of them on my 600. Hell I am only getting about 1500 out of this set of Pilots, my Dragons were much better as far as mileage goes, and almost as sticky as the pilots...Gonna have to try the Diablos I guess next time...I need to run some HH pads...and add some Galfer lines to firm up the lever just a bit...

Tire............
HDL, The tire did start it's life out here in West Tennessee. It was a little flat in the center when I got to the gap. Had it been fresh it'd have probably looked the exact opposite. That tire is a product of a MF that gets way to aggressive with corner exits.
I've tried several techniques, carrying more entrance speed staying smooth, feather the throttle progressively starting right before the apex and so on. But in the heat of it all, I don't really care if I carryed plenty of corner speed, when it comes time to get back on the gas, dammit it's time to get back on the gas. I probably bitch more about tire wear than anyone here. It's because I'm a cheap MF. But my riding style is the worst way you can treat a tire. More clutch wheelies than I could ever count, darkie after darkie after darkie............
Lucky sent me a used set of Supercorsas back in the spring. He said , and I quote "Hell I bet you get 1000 miles out of 'em". I had my doubts. I cooked them in 275 miles. The worse part is that I really loved the way they worked so I was babying the shit out of them. One ride to check them out, then one Sunday ride with the guys and they were dumpster bound. I know that this new set won't last for shit, but fuck it I'm gonna run 'em from time to time so I can see how the other half lives. Right now if it cost a nickle to shit, I'd have to puke.

You go freek!!!!! Shit, I remember the good ol' days when I got 2.5k outta rear tires on my ZX11. I thought it couldn't get any worse, boy was I in fer a shock.
freek, In all honesty, if you came down and rode with us you'd probably toast your tires too. Hell even Bart is now complaining about tire wear. I think he's been drinkin' about a 12pk of "Grow Some Nads" everyday for about a month now. I know that Chris, Harry, and I get pathetic tire milage. But we also are probably the most "Habitual Darkie Painters" you'll ever meet. I'd love to get some of that shit on video!!!!!!!!!!

in all seriousness i'm sure ur right. i tend to assume u guys got real abrasive pavement for one. of course, having 300 turns in 11 miles or whatever it is, aint gonan help none either. we got nothing liek that here. we got out share of twisties, but not that tight or that constant. always a straight section for several seconds here and there. what about red? if he's as slow as he says, what kinda mileage does he get? btw, i get about 5000kms (3000miles) outa my 010s. that took a fair amount of hard riding, but ineveitably that hard riding is interspersed amid plenty of easy ridin & a fair amoutn of grocery getting. would be interesting to see what would happen if i did nothing but real ridin for a whoel set of tires. i guess i wouldnt be too surprised if it got down to 1500miles or less too.

HDL, Habitual Drinker of Loads.........
Behind you eh???? I'll give you a free pass this time. Recognize that you left yourself wide open G. All I can say is that I don't know you, your abilities, or your riding style. You may run off and hide from me, it has happened before. But rest assured, I will NOT be pussy footin' around. Well, that is until I toast my tires. Then it's totally not fun at the gap. We run a pretty hot pace, but I've read where you do track days etc.,plus you know the Gap area, I'd imagine you'll find our pace adequate.
freek, I don't know what kinda milage sherm gets outta his skins. I think he's runnin' Diablo Corsas now, so I doubt he's getting any significant milage. Being that Sherm has a more "cautious" riding style (meaning that in a good way sherm) I'd say he fairs much better than I do. Hell Lucky gets good milage outta freakin' Supercorsas!!!!!!! He'd wear the motor out before he went through 2 sets of 010s. I only wish I could make tires last. Oh well, as Harry would say "Two tears in a bucket...........fuck it".

It's all good.......
HDL, we ain't racin' pimp. We're just having fun riding with our buds. No need for a pissing contest which could fuck up a good time. We all razz each other, no matter how fast or slow you are, you will get cracked on. It's all part of it, we be some heartless bastards at times too.
Just ask Bart and Chris about the time Lucky was leading us to the BRP. It was time to stop for a break and Lucky stopped, then we stopped a little ways past Lucky for a "meeting". Lucky got demoted to riding cleanup. He wouldn't pass the cages for shit. Chris and Bart said "Man you gotta lead". I didn't want to piss Lucky off, but I was ready to roll so when we pulled out I lead. Then it was game on!!! Then all the people we pissed off were flipping Lucky off and shit when he got up to them. It was classic, I love it when Lucky tells that story. He's a funny MF, and fast. He just tends to be way more cautious than we are when he is riding around cages. You can't blame the guy for that. Plus, he's right about the fact that it does piss a lot of people off. He is just trying to set a good example, I respect him for that. Also, may I add, all of us that were bitching about his pace in traffic have never passed the MF on the Cherohala. But he HAS passed us!!!! LOL!!!

That was funny as shit wasn't it. We, Rick, Bart and I had a little pow wow and fired Mark from the leader post. Rick is THE man to follow on traffic filled roads, he sees a sliver and takes it, I usually immediately behind him. But Mark, boy I sat back there reading Ann Landers waiting to get to a stop. BUT, and I clarify..BUT he will smoke any of our asses on any road without traffic. I always tell the story and always will about the turn on the Cherahola when I was at about all I had thinking I was fucking Otis' Rossi and here comes Mark passing me on the outside like he's strolling through the park. That fucker is so smooth he makes silk feel like sandpaper. WE love ya Mark!

Great story....
Yeah Otis the pass on Cherohala was awesome. We were rollin' too BTW. I'll never forget it. I don't know the entire running order, but I know I was setting the pace, then you were second, then Harry. Us 3 were in a close formation going pretty damned good. Rolling hard into a nice fast right hand sweeper I see a bike out of the corner of my left eye, it was comin' on too. My first thought was THAT FUCKIN' Whore,.....Otis has been holdin' out on me. But then in a flash I realized it was Lucky. He looked back at me over his shoulder before he tightened up his line. He's a good rider, and is a smooth MF for a gay guy.
Also, I don't know about being THE man in traffic. I just GO when it's time to roll. It always makes me feel good that you guys trust me enough to set the pace for most all our rides. Nothing is any cooler than running with you guys through those mountains. The wail of multiple piped 12Rs echoing of those canyons is music to my ears. It's something that there is no replacement for. It's friendship, and trust personafied IMHO. Out of all the miles we've rode together I can only think of one time when I pulled you (Otis) into a curve WAY to hot. I had to cross the DY, you managed to pull it off. You remember where it was at?????
Setting here talking about some of our past rides only fires me up even more. I can't wait to see you worthless MFs. I can't wait to ride either, my riding season this year has consisted of the may gap event.
I'm also ready for some front porch style partyin'. That runs a very close second to the rides.
CAN I GET A WITNESS!!!!!!!??????????!!!!!!!!!!

I'm your huckleberry...
Oh, I remember that turn alright, I remember it cause I hadn't seen you go that far over the line before, it was a right hander on the cherahola, if you'd have gone off, it would have been off that cliff at 5000 ft! You were only a couple feet over the line and that can be deadly but In your defense if you recall it was the first time we rode the Cherahola the other way and it was a decreasing right hander. We'd never gone through that way so it kinda took you by suprise. I made it through of course because of my superior riding skills.

You made it through because you saw how bad I blew the turn!!!!!!! That AND your superior riding skills.....
Oh yeah, correct answer. You did remember, and you brought up an interesting point. That was the first time we ever ran the Cherohala in that direction.
