My dog has to have surgery tomorrow. Again!
FUCK! She tore her Cranial Cruciate Ligament this time, playing with another dog. This is the same knee that she had the floating patella on last fall that we had to do surgery on too. She can barely put weight on it and I have to carry her up and down the stairs. Man I love this dog to no end but she is breaking the bank. Starting with the Parvo when she was a puppy, to the Gastroenteristis issues that plagued her for a year to my friends dog biting her side and requiring surgery to the floating patella suregery now to the Ligament tear surgery. We are $9100 into her now, and this surgery called a TPLO-Tibial Plateau Leveling Osteotomy will cost $2900. Fuck that's $12,000! We got her from the pound when she was puppy cause we wanted to save a dog and thought it would be cheaper at $150 then buying a pure breed. < shaking head > I love ya Hailey Dog but damn you're draining my savings acccount.

Is it too late to get the doggie vet insurance? It sounds like it would have been cheaper if you would have done that from the start.

i hate to say it, and I am not a cold hearted son of a bitch...but I have a limit as to what I will do for a dog, and even for one of my working dogs would have had a .38 cure by now.....but I dont have kids either....that would make thigs different....

Wow, I've spend a $1000.00 to save my cat's paw.
I don't know what I would've done if the bill were much higher. I am glad I didn't have to make that decision.
One the other hand one might ponder what a $1000.00 or whatever, would do to feed or cloth starving people.
I am making a statement or claiming that I know the snswer, but something I thought about.

I have two dogs Mambo( male ) and Yssanka ( female ).
I did brot them back from Spain with me , Car, plane travels.
But mambo now 1 year have a problem on the spin and he has not much strench on his leggs, he walk slow, can't jump and have difficulties going thrue short stairs. I know that he doesn't suffer ( i realy hope )
The best it's to keep him happy.
We saw many doctors but none with a good solution.
He is so affective..
Love him

I remember when ZHooligan used to carry his Duberman sp? up and down the stairs, so the dog could go do his thing. That dog's weight was about 80 lbs. ZHooligan did for probably 3 months.

I found this and i thougt it was realy cool
Dear Kimba,
As you are aware I truly enjoy having you around and appreciate the fact that you never give me any pushback on any of my life decisions, are always pleased to see me, and although you leave your white fur in every room, nook, and crevice of our house without cleaning up after yourself, I have no issue with that. I do have a question though. When you stare at me relentlessly all day long with those dark brown eyes and that pink nose, with your body comfortably positioned across your big pillow in the area in my home office in a spot on the floor that ensures a clear vantage point of all my activities, what exactly are you waiting for? Is a walk on your agenda? Are you hoping I will do something entertaining? Do you think a large steak or tuna fillet may appear in front of you if you stare long enough? Have you noticed after 3 years of staring at me all day that this strategy to procure high end people food has not worked? Or maybe you are trying to tell me something telepathically and eye contact is key... Yes, something is brewing in that fast moving canine brain that sees the world in shades of black and white. I wonder Kimba. I just wonder.
Sincerely,
Your obedient master

I've had one dog now for the past ... 12 years. He's a big guy, a Rhodesian Ridgeback. As he approaches his twilight, I'm more and more scared of the day I come home and he's not there...
