Hang in there... that's awful.

I had it happen with a girlfriend who left me for a married co-worker and I felt weird and awful for 6 months.. So I imagine you feel a lot worse than I did.

I know you don't know me but I have seen your name many times on this and Easy's site. I used quite a few of your suggestions from these two sites and they were a big help to me with my 12. I can't imagine what you're going through with the kids involved but I too have been dumped on like that. I know how much it hurts and messes with your head but it will get better and you won't believe how strong you'll be after it all settles down. You will look back one day and realize how unhappy you really were towards the close of this realtionship and that this happened for a reason. You'll come through this a better man. I hope it works out with your kids. Sorry I haven't got to meet you. You sound like a stand up guy. Good luck to you. Take care my friend.

Doing something constructive for Stent!

I say we all take up a collection & send Stentman enough $$$ to get another 12R! Infact we could probably find a good used one for ~$7K. Because this man needs a 12r to help recover!

I'll kickstart the efforts with a pledge of $500 toward Stents 12R.
Anyone else want to help?

Hey Stentman...

It's good to hear from you bro'. We're all glad you decided to post.

I'm sorry to hear of you're wife problems. My only words of advice to you are to keep your focus on the kids. Talk to them often. Keep the lines of communication open. They'll have unanswered questions that they will ask you as long as you are their confidant.

From what you've said I know there's no point in asking you to post more often. I feel that you'll let us know now and then how you are. Your priorities have changed and I know your life is pointed in a different direction now. Maybe when everything is settled down, you can drop in for some good natured abuse. I kind of feel like you haven't owned your last motorcycle yet. Maybe you'll tell us about some new cruiser bike you'll buy...ha! ha! ha!

Hang in there buddy! We're your other family and we share your pain.

Good luck to you Frank from the bottom of my heart. -ZXtra

Hopefully the worst is over for you Frank.

Glad you're still around. It saddens me that this has happened to a nice guy like yourself.I've been through a similar situation so I understand how tough it is.Hang in there it will get better.Think of your kids, thats what I did and it kept me from doing something that would have landed me in jail and ruined both my life and theirs.Take care of yourself. - - - - harry

Thanks

Guys (and ZX12Girl)

This group never ceases to amaze me. Thank you all for your kind words, it means more to me than you'll ever know. I read each and every reply with a lump in my throat and am grateful for having friends such as you.

Who knows why life throws us curveballs, but God knows I had a high hanging one and didn't duck! I did everything possible to save our marriage, but as she said, she had "checked out" way back in February and although I did everything humanly possible, I couldn't save it; she had been having several affairs and getting her new life in order. The thing that disgusts me was that she began "dating" with a 10 month old little boy and a 3 1/2 year old girl; it was really a punch in the gut that she couldn't have even waited until she left me. The more investigative work I do, the more I find out how unfaithful she was.

I too have lost about 23 lbs. It's the most numbing experience of my life and as I said, it will take every penny I have, and twice more than I don't have, to get custody of my children. Maryland wants 19 month old babies with their mothers regardless of how evil they are.

I think of you all often, and thanks for your words of advice and encouragement.

Thanks for being there,
Frank

Hey Bubba,
If you need a fix give me a shout and you can take my 12 for a spin 'til we can get you another one. I'm in for $100 towards your new 12(as long as it's green...just kidding) I'm just outside of D.C. and she's spankin' new with a few mods. The guys here are a big part of what I like about riding and I'm glad to help out another fellow rider when he's down. Take care my man.

Frank, I'm sorry for all your troubles. Have you went thru the "what did I do wrong", or the "what could I have done different" stages yet? If not, I'll give you the answers in advance, "nothing"!
This portion of your first post sent chills up my spine,

I'm impressed with the generosity on this board. A legal fund might be more apropriate right now.

Fund Raising

Hey Speedfreak, Hawk, Need4Green or CVC we need to get together on this and figure out what we are going to do. I've got four or five more people already from Easy's site to contribute $50 or more to the fund for Stent. Are we going to get him a better lawyer or a 12? If we go with the bike, we should get everyone to pledge, see how much we have and whoever finds the right bike get the dough and make the buy. I know where there is a sweet red 12 for sale right now. Keep the ball rollin'.

Speednuts, it is nice to see you are motivated to help Stentman out. But before you get carried away don't you think someone should ask Stent what he wants? Who knows, he may not even be interested in getting another 12 right now.
Someone who has direct contact with Stent should discuss this with him..I personally think the legal fund might be the more appropriate way to go.. But again I can't say because I'm not Stentman...

Legal fees vs. 12R

The problem with legal fees is this:
There is no guarantee that Stent will win custody of the children reguardless of how much is raised.
(If there was then I'd send more$$)
The 12R has a $$ range that can be met & once met will guarantee that Stent gets a 12R.

My reason(s) for choosing to pledge toward a 12r are simple...it's an attainable goal & if one 12R toward legal fees isn't enough? Another 12R toward legal fees won't be enough either.

If the "Stent 12R fund" is a success & Stent, then the 12R owner, chooses to sell it for legal fees, that's his choice to make.

12R It Is Then...Now Let's Make It Happen

I am in total agreemnet with Speedgeek. We know 12's not lawyers. Let him make the decison for his personal life. Let's just try to restore some joy to it. It will at the very least be a healthy distraction for him. Believe me I know the worst thing to do is sit around and think about what happened.

Either way we decide to go is fine with me, I don't know how much the legal fees would be. Sometimes is good to have some distractions and the 12 sounds like a good way.

I really hate dealing with attorneys, It is a different world form the one I am used to. If the law in your state will give her custody no matter what, there is really no sense in fighting it. It would be a tough decision to try to get custody of the girl and split them up. The only thing I can tell you is that kids will know what is going own sooner than later. No matter what they are told, they have keen feelings and will sense things out. You will be fine.

You guys are amazing. Thanks to all of you for your posts and emails. Just the mere gesture of helping me out is really enough right now guys. The fact that there are people out there that have never met me and would choose to help me out makes me realize how truly fortunate I am.

Currently I am ok. I will more than likely have to sell my house to pay for the legal bills and from there we'll see what happens. Getting custody of my children is my priority right now, and the best it will be is 50%; but I'll take it. The "12R fund" is one of the nicest things I've heard, but I'd much rather you guys use the $ on your families for a nice holiday gift. Your generosity is amazing and I thank you.

I will keep you all posted. Keeping me in your thoughts and prayers is the best thing I could ask right now.

Thanks guys,
Frank

A 12R is what Stent wants...I know it! Can any one of us say that our 12s don't bring us happiness and provides a sort of "get away" from the shittiness that life dishes out sometimes? Without my bike, I wouldn't be as happy as I am. The endorphins produced from riding it is the reason I can't be without it. Get the 12r fund rolling...I'm in.
