Anyone know how to wire a relay?
I'm going to try this myself.
http://www.bikeland.org/board/viewthread.php?FID=13&TID=8087&set_time=1058591444
I don't know squat about electronics.
I am tring to activate the resistor when i trigger the
nitrous.
I need to know how to wire this.
The relay has 5 prongs. 30, 85,86,87, and 87a.
It appears that I have 6 wire to manage for this project.
12v, ground, temp wire in, temp wire out w/resistor,
temp wire out w/o resistor, trigger from nitrous.
Maybe i can use the 12 trigger and not need a power source.
HELP!

For the resistor part:
Temp wire in to 30
temp wire out wo/resistor 87A
temp wire w/resistor 87
nitrous trigger to 85
It all depends on the trigger from the nutrous. If the trigger is 12 volts when activated you hook 86 to ground. If the trigger is Ground when activated you hook 12v to 86.

ok,my nitrous button has 12v to it all the time and then when i hit the button it grounds.Does that mean 12v to 86?And do i leave the buton wired the same and just splice into the wires or do i actually use the relay to activate the resisor and the nitrous solenoid now?yep,i'm a idiot.lol

My understanding is (85) and (86) are your + and -,
when both or present relay is active. Use either to complete the circuit.
I would wire them just like your nitrous, and activate both with the same wires at the same time. (30) is temp wire from radi.

Your exactly right ninja12.I just had someone explain it to me on paper and its simple.Just splice the 85 and 86 in on each side of your solenoid and when your solenoid is activated by the button the relay switches over to the wire with the resistor.

the next i'm sharing with others.
Thanks Ted, and others who replied on the other boards.

IT DON"T GET ANY BETTER THAN THIS!
Any better he would have to come to my place and do the work.
WOW!
Yeap my question was answered to the fullest .
