HDL< No matter how you slice it, You are our own personal Hero! Through no fault of your own, you could not ride your bike and have limited time to ride it even now! So no one specially Kevin want to do anything that would limit that precious riding time. SO he stayed to make it as perfect as he could "No Matter how long it took" so you could ride today. Just exactly what I would have done if I had your bike. The difference is I have done that a thousand times and now sleep a lot because I wore it out when I was younger (Please note that being in your 40 is not young). I felt that Kevin did the exact same thing and will be tired today (and he is happy that he got super numbers out of your bike to boot), but just like me, he can catch up on all of his sleep when he is Old "Like Me"!!
Does this explain it??

Kevin,
those are some very, VERY, VERY stout hp numbers!
Do you use a DJ250 in a climate controlled dyno room by any chance???

Yes..he does.
Should be interesting...Id planned to get a custom NA map there shortly (after carls bikes done)....the last custom map I had made yielded 174hp (open dyno room...middle of the summer..bike had exactly 1000miles).
now 9000 miles later...lets see how it is

The dyno room kevin works in is hot as hell. The exhaust fans suck all the cool air out in a big hurry. Kevin is not in A/C comfort when he is running a bike on the dyno.

20,000 CFM of air comes in the front of the dyno-cell...from OUT SIDE!!! through duct-work that go THROUGH THE ROOF of the building...we have large ducts (one on each side) at the rear that pivot in behind the exhaust pipe(s) after the bike is on the dyno to evacuate the exhaust to OUTSIDE of the building...also through the roof... VERY cool (so-to-speack) set-up...
Used to gas us bad in there when mapping a large-high-reving-bike (Zx12, Bbusa) before the swinging-exhaust-ducts were finished...COULD NOT map/jet properly when gassy like that also...
Now??? I can barely smell any exhaust unless the bike is "stupid rich"
When it's hot outside...It's HOT in the dyno-cell!!! LOTS of fresh-air though
102.8* on one bike I did last week!
I'm pretty sure it was in the low-mid 90s...MAYBE...HIGH 80s for HDLs last HP runs...it was for SURE mid-high 90s when mapped though...
COLD in the winter too!!! I bought "winter" gloves and a beanie just for dynos this past winter
We also have the Dyno-cooling-fans...between the 20,000cfm and the cooling fans I can map bikes WITH THE PLASTIC ON...without melting anything (but me )...
You are VERY welcome Jim!!!

My silver 12 made 181 rwhp on pump gas with no tuning, no powercommander and just a hindle bolted on. No timing advancer. 100% stock except the pipe, still had the stock filters! chart on the website.

Bergie bike is the one that someone jumped on me for saying "He got one of the Bikes made on Wednesday for the Magazine test"! I still feel that they might run 100 to 1000 bikes on the Dyno and pick the best to give to the Journals for testing!

eric if you are talking about my 12, it had Ti Muzzy exhaust on it. with stainless header. Ran a mechanical advance on it set 4.5 degrees. Ran a PCIII with custom map from Stock Mild to Wild in Jacksonville FL. K&N air filters. Then Kevin tweaked things, set the TPS, and synched the throttle bodies, and gave the bike a good once over.....it ran very strong
Stock it was dyno'd at 154 HP at the wheels, After Kevin and he fellas got dont it was 180 HP at the wheel. Then I had some additional things done to it and got a best ever, (could just be the difference of the dynos) 183 HP and 98 ft lbs of torque. it was a hoot to rie for sure....

Wow those are some really impressive numbers, because mine only did 170.1 at SMTW with my Akra without tuning, but i'm sure it will do a little better with some advance and a custom map.
