World Finals Oct 14-18

Ok, the bike's as ready as it's going to be. Going to put an AMA rider on the bike for the record run, and if we have time, I'll try and take it over 200. Now just gotta take the gearing from drag race (16/50) to lsr (18/43) and see what it'll do. Hope it all works out!

Thanks! I hope to get a ride in myself. Wouldn't be time during Speedweek, but maybe during World Finals.

Are you going to use a 19 tooth front so you will not run out of gearing because of wheel speed vs actual speed? From listening to Jim, he was running about 225 to 230 wheel speed to get about 210 to 215 real speed! I am no expert on Bonneville, but I am an expert for being prepared for the unexpected!

FYI:

Motorcycle Rules Change Sec. 7 F & G

All Bonneville Motorcycle Racers

The 2003 rulebook has some controversial and difficult to understand changes that were issued by the previous rules committee. Due to these changes many of your motorcycles fit neither the Modified nor Special Construction classes. We will be using the 2002 rulebook for section 7.F Modified Frame and section 7.G Special Construction, from pages 96 to 100. And also read Production motorcycles may change to Modified classes. Production or Modified motorcycles may not change to Special Construction class once they have entered in Production or Modified for that meet. Tell your friends to check this site or print this out for them. Please note that there will be a rules meeting on salt (date & time to be determined) to discuss how to resolve this problem for 2004. Again, we will use the 2002 rulebook only for sections 7F and 7G.

Sorry about the confusion, but let's go racing!

Wink Eller,

Motorcycle Technical Chairman

Is this the section about being just over and just under ? 67 inches long? (The difference between being an "Altered and a Modified" or does this relate to the problem of seat height where the seat must be below the rim for altered but above the top of the tire for Modified?

S'alright. I'm running P/P 1200-1350cc. Only thing I need to do is to make the stock exhaust fit the muzzy pipe, and I'm ready to go.

SWFT I will try and make it to the Salt Flats this year. Right now I am Commuting between Las Vegas and Slat Lake City, trust me it sucks. I will try and make it out to both events this year. Are you going to make both events? AUG and OCT.

Nope, I figure Speedweek will be so busy, will be very hard to get time on the salt. World Finals is a much smaller event, figure there'll be more time.
