Muz. basket/clutch, "clutch arm" Q?
Finally got my Muzzys basket & clutch f/my 00'. Getting ready for the drags... 
I notice some talking about "clutch arm wear?" Huh? Should I replace my clutch arm w/a 01' or an 02' arm? Any info on this issue here?
I'll be installing in within a week or two...

The "arm wear" they are talking about is where the arm actually contacts the puller from the clutch basket. Most of the wear is caused by people running too much clutch height from what I have seen.
I purchased an extra 2001 arm since it is solid all the way down while the 2000 arm starts out the same size, reduces in size after going through the needle bearings, then increases to the original size right before the "contact" area on the puller. A few guys have had the puller shaft break (probably with lock-ups), but I have never had any problems whatsoever. Matter of fact, I have the 2000 arm in my bike right now.

Didnt know there was a difference in the 01/02 puller arm.
Then again I didnt know there was a difference in the 00/01 arm either

The actuator shaft doesn't break, it wears at the puller pin notch from improper installation. It's the pin that can break, again from improper alignment (the angle of the actuator shaft lever and/or the vertical alignment with the notch). This breakage is more common with the lockup due to the increased load on the pin when guys pull the clutch in against the centrifugal weights at high wheel speed. Those who are unwilling to believe that they can possibly screw up always blame the pin- it's not the pin, it's the install.
If you look at the system carefully you'll note that the pin does not turn it is supposed to remain stationary against the needle bearing while the clutch rotates around it. If the notch in the shaft is properly aligned with the puller pin there should be no wear-there is little or no relative movement. If you see wear around the notch or on the pin, the shaft is not staying in the right place. This is due to the cable going slack or the clutch swelling when hot (dragging) which increases the stack height, moving the pin closer to the shaft allowing the angle of the shaft to change enough to move the notch off the pin.

Thanks for your time in replying guys; I really appreciate it!  I've never had the cover off but assuming it's no big deal & similar to standard KZ clutches. Anyone got a picture of the "notch" where its supposed to be located? Ah... no worries I'll figure it out. Thanks for the details Doug/kawachan.
Mine has "dragged" numerous times when hot at the drags- clutch dragging pushed me right across the beam once for a red-light! In eliminations no less.....grrrr...... 
I am hoping the clutch & basket w/help w/this over stock...at least it will be nice to have the peace of mind it won't blow the basket anymo...
Now I'm just waiting on a cover gasket that should arrive in any day now...
