Problem Between Board Members Over!!
A while back, one Board member sold a Micron Serpent exhaust system. When received, the pipe looked "OK" but just a little later, the Buyer found some cracks. No one know for sure exactly how the cracks got there, but there is more than a 50 / 50 chance it happened during shipping. (If it happened on removal, the cracks would not have been seen. Which is the only other way it would have happened.) Some of us saw some of the very heated words between these two members which really got nasty! Because I had done business with "Both" of them and I liked and respected them and also know how fustrating it is to have something go wrong in a transaction involving my Motorcycle, (Not to mention my need to meddle in others business) I sent both of them and e-mail.
It was not easy for them to let go of this and turn it over to me, but that is what they did! We worked out 2 plans! One was that the Insurance at the Post Office would pay and #2 was if the Post Office did not pay. In the end, the Post Office took their merry time in paying, but they did pay and everyone is now 99% OK!
I post this on this board for several reasons. #1, both people are good people and were dealing with something they both had never dealt with and both were extremely fustrated. Learn from this, Take precautions before the fact! Pay for the Insurance and SELLER!! DO NOT CASH or USE THE MONEY UNTIL AFTER THERE HAS BEEN TIME FOR CAREFUL INSPECTION! BUYER!! MAKE A VERY CAREFUL INSPECTION BEFORE YOU CALL!
#2, IF YOU HAVE THE MONEY TO BUY SOMETHING NEW, BUY IT NEW! IF YOU NEED TO PAY LESS, THEN TAKE THE ABOVE PRECAUTIONS!
I still consider both MachIII and KingKaspar my friends and I would still do business with both of them! Specially now because they have some experience a lot of us (Fortunately) will never have! Thank you both for your trust and the passageway to heaven where my prayers have been going can now be shut down!(Thank God)

Glad it got worked out. Nice of you to step in and help them Vincent. I am shocked that you would help on a non Hindle or Akro pipe though!!

YES THUMBS UP TO VINCENT HILL!
and he has about 2 billion points in my respect and honesty book.
it takes one hell of a good guy to step in and resolve a matter like this,
especially when it comes to our precious bikes,that we all love and have a deep passion for.
and kaspar a big thank you also to you for waiting patiently on the post office for this claim to be settled.

Rob, You guys went through hell! As bad as it was for you being asked "Not" to defend yourself when that is the nature of your culture and Of course it was bad for Steve, not because he was on the receiving end, but because he is an attorney and he is the one that usually does this for others and had some real big guns and I had to get him not to fire them! To me it was like having someone else collect a bill for me and I am one of the best collectors in the country! Again, Thanks for the Trust and serious patience!!

They've got a thing in UK called "sold as seen". Backed up with enough photos, I'm sure you could get the postal service to pay it's bit of the damage.
I don't know the legalities, but I've had loads problems with (intercontinental( postage. They always pay.

Actually a Very Conservative Democrat! (and we are not going there! I just zipped my mouth closed turned the Key and threw it away on that subject!)
After the Swingarm deal and this, maybe the next time I have a problem I will try to let someone like Mad Mike or ZX12 Girl work it out for me! They just kept throwing some water on my fire from time to time so I would not explode and I feel that Angie, Mike, Doug Ray, Bergie plus a few others really stepped up to the plate for me because I feel that I may have never gotten my arm back if it was not for their handy work! The difference here was, I was dealing with Humans (You know, Feelings and reasoning powers) That is more than I can say for what I was dealing with there and I have never forgotten what they did for me. This was to help pay the interest on that debt!

I do not drink Beer :oops. Actually I think it is a Board member and a Visitor Sometimes you just must ring the Bell and watch the dog chew the fence in the yard because when you let the dog out, it has no fight because the fence is no longer protecting it and it just runs away!
