Jonwright,
You're taking me too seriously. I more than anyone strive to explain things carefully and basically and I NEVER, well almost never, consider any question or questioner stupid. That's why I try so hard on the instructions and reacted the way I did to the comment from worm~hole. I welcome any comments on how to make our support documentation better. Keep in mind though, that there is a difference between what might be appropriate to supply with a crankshaft and a damper kit. We have to ASSUME that the guy buying the crank either knows himself how to install it or is going to utilize a competent engine builder who does. Otherwise, as I said earlier, where do you start ? This is one of the reasons that on items like an exhaust we suggest that you start with a factory manual if you don't have the basic knowledge. The factory book starts with "how to remove the fairing" we don't have the resources to do that on every part.
On a steering damper I start with "remove the windshield". On the crankshaft, we say "clean the crankshaft thoroughly....." See what I mean?

...hey Doug...eeeasy there, turbo...maybe it was the quality of the pics in the instructions that made it difficult for my poor eyesight to see....maybe it was the wording of the instructions (if I can find the instructions I'll point out what I meant)...I DO have some hands-on mechanical experience, though not enough to be employed by as a technician Muzzy's (but maybe enough to be a fine go-fer )...at any rate, as I've stated, I can install one in just about no-time flat now because I have become familiar and comfortable with it, but the first time was a little frustrating (with everyone else saying it was a breeze), but not overwhelming...my comment was tongue in cheek and I took your comment tongue in cheek as well...where's my breakfast?

Went W/Scott's
Found a Scott's for $400. The $180 difference made my decision ez. Besides, I've already given Muzzys enough of my money

Doug, I completely agree. And I think your approach is indeed appropriate.
Daytona, unlike Muzzy's who don't have a large professional services arm to prop up (erm, I mean, utilize) its in our best interest to have crappy documentation so we can say...."Now if you'd had US install it (for $30k) you MIGHT not have had those problems. See how much fun that is?
Besides, technical documentation on our stuff makes my eyes water. Bus vs. cache utilization? Yech.
