gasoline
Was just wondering what brand of gas(on the street)everyone uses?Iwas curious to know if there are some brands that have superior additives.I've been using Hess because it was the cheapest and yet 93 octane.

When I do use pump gas I use the best. 93 octane Mobil. Did I mention the fact that I own a Mobil gas station!
My advise as a guy who builds stations and has been foolish enough to keep a couple; look for for stations that is clean, has newer equipment and sells a reasonable amount of fuel. These are indicators of fresh fuel, good filters, no water or etc. in the gas.

My bike says on the tank sticker "Use 95 or higher octane", with the threat of engine destruction if you don't.
I heard on here people are using 90 and less - although you get better power, is it worth the risk?

Highest we can get here at "normal" brand name stations is 91; that's why I typically run (Union 76 or Chevron.) Sticker on my tank says 90 minimum.
I've run race gas a few times (ERC, Trick, etc.) but could not feel a difference...

95 is not available as standard pump gas. Think you have misread the sticker. The risk you run is detonation and pinging. And it really isn't worth the risk. put premium in it and save the race gas for after you pump the compression up!

95 Octane Ron Rating equals approx 90 RON + MON/2 format. This is the standard. A rule of thumb is that if a supplier rates its fuel in RON (research octane number) subtract 5 to get a RON + MON/2. For every 2000-2500 increase in altitude, you can safely reduce the octane number by 1, if the station hasn't already. - Idaho I now offer regular gas at 85 octane, and 90 for a premium. Interior of BC at certain stations have there premium number as 91 instead of 92. Now this could be a supplier issue and 92 isn't required due to altitude.

I use 87 oct pump gas and have been using it for the past 2 years with no problems. If you use race gas 100oct or higher you will lose power in a stock bike even with a pipe. I drag race mine every weekend and have run 9.22 @ 146 mph. So unless you hear it pinging stop wasting your money on high octane gas....

Running at the drag strip is one thing. Pulling a long hill on the highway in 6th gear is another. While drag racing puts stress on an engine it is not the same.
But high octane fuels of 100 plus octane serve no real purpose on non modified engines. The octane is needed for high compression to slow the burn and eliminate detonation. 91 octane on the stock compression is all you really need. Nutec is only 90 octane. But it does have some other enhancements to help it burn and make horsepower!

Perhaps I should have mentioned when I ran race gas I still had the cat, so I tried both 98 & 103 ERC unleaded race gas.
