Tail light housing
Any body know how to seperate the red lens from the black body of the tail light housing??
Appears to be held by 4 tabs. Doesn't seem to come apart easily and I'm afraid to break it.
TIA

i read u have to use a blade of some sort to cut the glue/sealant honding the parts together. i tried once & didnt get too far cause the sealant was so soft i couldnt really cut it. but plenty of people have got it apart.

I have a clear lens on mine now. The red lens was a pain to get off but patience will allow you to remove it. I did not attempt to re-glue the clear replacement lens because there was enough of the factory glue remaining on the housing to make the clear lens stick really hard. I don't know what Kawasaki uses for glue but it is pretty strong. I used a couple of small screw drivers and worked my way around gradually. Maybe I could have tried a hair dryer too, it might have softened up the glue more and made it easier to remove the lens. I don't think you will be able to re-use the red lens after you remove it, I bent mine up considerably getting it off.

Well I finally got it apart.
Actually quite easy once I figured out how.
I used a heat gun which softened the glue and plastic.
Then with a screw driver I gently pried the lens from the base.
Both parts are reusable.
Lots of glue around but apart.
