ZX12.org sticker deal

Hey im new here just recently found this place... annother 12r.org guy showed me here. and im greatfull, the more info I can find im into it.. I have dealt with Dale on this deal.. I too am a screen printer, textile though, and for whatever reason he didnt know the EPS file was vector.. I guess some one said he needed a "Vector" file and he thought it had to be a Vector format" just seems lack of knowledge has gotten this into a tissy. I have seen the work its flawless.. I told Dale that and I assume thats what he took to the printer.. I honestly think Dale just didnt know.. Im not sure if he was told, the above posts were like 3 friggin miles long but I dont think he was trying to be difficult I know he appreciates the file.. and I know Red Elk wasnt obligated to give it to him... I have lived in the I own this art world for way way too long and I applaud Red Elk for his act of kindness. just my 2 cents..
I know Red Elk locked up the last thread and I hope im not crossing any lines reopening a shut deal..

Thank you for paying us a visit here and hopefully you'll drop by more often. You, like all the other members of Dale's site (including Dale) are always welcome here.

No, you did not "cross any lines" in posting on this topic. We try to avoid drawing such "lines" when ever possible. Even if it would have been a "negative" viewpoint. Unless, of course, fish is in one of his "get a sense of humor" moods.

In a brief nutshell, it was his repeated comments on the board and via e-mails, about "jagged edges" and wanting to "clean up the artwork" that sent me over the edge of reasonability.

I tried to explain to him that it would not be necessary to clean the artwork. If anything, it was the screen printing process itself, not the artwork, that produced what he was referring to as "jagged edges". Since that order, we have switched to a finer mesh, a different emulsion and changed our exposure times. All aspects that I believe would address the "issues" Dale was referring to.

Even though I felt the quality was more then satisfactory, since Dale has confused what he was seeing on his monitor as "jagged edges", leads me to believe that Dale's also expecting offset printing resolution on a screen printed product.

I'll never claim that our shop produces the best or sharpest image in the world and he might even find a screen printer that will produce a sharper image, but I still think he is confused about the differences between the two processes.

As for the aspects of die cutting and premasking the decals, we discussed die cutting, but he did not want to pay for getting a die made, as well as the die cutting charge itself, at that time. Getting the decals premasked, even if they were die cut, seems to be a waste of money and kinda unnecessary.

Just my humble opinion.

Again, we welcome your visit here and hope to see you post again soon.

GOZR, There's no way I could be competitive on shirt prices. Even if I give you an "agency discount" (as I usually do for bike forums and their members), there are far too many textile printers out there that just beat my prices hands down. To make matter worse, I don't even do process color, just spot color.

worm~hole, fish has been after me for over a year on the decals for the Zone and Dragbike forums. Needless to say, when it comes to doing work for fish and the price he's willing to pay, it hasn't been a real high priority on my list of things to do.

On the other hand, since the old banner is MIA and he's needing one for Laguna, all this might be changing. I'm in the process of finishing the art for a new banner and I'm sure that the decals will follow soon after that. At least for the Zone. MM and ZX12RGirl are gonna have help fish build a fire under my ass for that forum's decals.
