...ahhh...those diabolical mutha%%$##%$ing fastensers that hold the two inner fairings of the 00-01s...one at the very bottom and one on each side....after you've removed the outer side panels, you'll be able to scoonch (technical term for try to look between the the gap of the nose fairing and the inner fairings where they attach to each other while you twist your neck ala the exorcist if you don't have a waist level motorcycle lift) and see the back side of said diabolical fasteners...stick a Craftsman or left-handed snap-On butterknife (actually your wife's everyday butter-knife will do...never the from the expensive silver flatwear that was your wedding gift lest' ye not want to face the wrath of the spoual unit) under there and push the plastic screw outwards as you try to unscrew it...that's what I did...
