@home cable service I have never dealt with a poorer internet service than @home cable service. I thought AOL was bad due to access problems 2 years ago but that pales compared to @ home service. Long service outages, lost e-mail and the crappiest phone reps were the worst problems. Never got a single credit I was promised for service outages. When the cable modem failed (13 months old) one month out of warranty I told them to stuff the cable service.

Toast!!! No service at home. They better get this crap fixed soon....

Life is an adventure. Are you driving?
...anyone through ATT is quasi buggered, but only for maybe 2 weeks - by then ATT say they will likely have a full network changeover completed. [likely be a better service too actually - the @home network backbones are typically heavily congested]
As for any of the other cablemodem companies who partnered with @home for their backend services... it looks like a toss of the coin. @home seems to be keeping enough equipment alive that many people still have service, however if @home doesnt pull a rabbit out the bag to survive, it will go down permanently - if you then happen to be through a "smaller" cable company, they likely cant afford the costly equipment and network change over to get you back up and running without @home on the backend. [which would hurt bigtime - I feel for anyone in that bucket]
All round it's a pretty shitty situation...

This Sucks No shit on the lack of proper internet conection. We (Chicago) lost our high speed contection Saturday morning and now I am having to use GAY AOL. I hate this. As I sit back and ponder however I relieze that without having to use dial-up modems for so long I am really going to appreciate getting the good service back.
