connecting rod bearings

guys i recently took apart my engine an saw that the bearngs on the connectng rods are bad,i am advised to change them. are there any markings to know which is the correct bearing before i order because my mechanic tell me that there is sumtin to do with a colour..............can u plz help me to know which colour before i purchase plzzzzz...........thnx

On the side of the bearings there should be paint marks, blue, black, or brown if I remember right. They might not be there after being ran many years. Best thing would be to measure the crank and rod journal sizes and go from there.

They be sumtin to do with color but its not important. Just pick colors you think are pretty and see what happens.

You need a service manual. It will explain how to measure and fit the bearings. If the bearings are "bad", how is the crank? what made them go bad? they don't just do that on their own.
