Cliff? PCIII question...
I just up loaded a map a friend sent me and it said fuel and ignition tables sent. I though that it could not be seeing as I had a PCIII not a PCIIIr. To double check I retrieved the map from the commander and it said fuel and ignition tables succesfully retrieved. Didn't you do some testing about this? Do I have a IIIr in sheeps clothing? Can't ride the bike to see if there is a difference or not cause there is sleet and rain mix out there. Yuck!!!

I believe Cliff posted a while ago that the PCIII's actually were NOT able to accept the ignition changes. There was talk about the unit actually accepting the map but whether or not the timing changes were applied was questionable. I guess it will accept the map but it doesn't change the timing.

I wish we could put this one to bed.
PCIII will accept PCIIIr maps with ign, there shouldn't be any debate on this anyfurther. I wrote the damn software and my roommate designed the hardware.

A map for a PC-IIIr with timing can be put in a PC-III but the timing part of the Map will not work , By the way if you have a stock ZX- 12 with a pipe and race it in the 1/4 mile ,Try a run with your best Map and look at your time & your MPH ,Then take your PC-III or PC-IIIr out of the bike and try a few passes with no PC ,Ill allmost bet you get a faster MPH & a better ET with out it .

Hi guys......Just save all the bullshit, do this to determine whether or not your PC3 is capable of altering your ignititon timing, and don't try and do it real-time, cause it won't work. With the motor 'off and the ignition on', download a map with -25 ignition right across the board. See if your motor's characteristics change.....You will not hurt the motor.
Acid test complete!!!
Cheers,

One more note.
The hardware is not supposed to alter timing at all below 3000 rpms so keep this in mind when you are checking for the char changes.
