the bike was class legal, yes every tech person was there
the bike was NA. yes, it was checked for hidden nitrous stuff after the run
ive been playing with fuel mixtures in my black non intercooled turbo 12. yes. a mix of 85% methanol and 15% gas by volume. works well so far, i like expirementing. hitting the track tmrw if the weather holds
Henrys bike was running on vp mrx02. if you had of been there you would know. claiming theres methanol or nitro in the tank? um no. but good idea, any tips on trying some? all ears!

running in fuel is way less hassle, we top up the cell for each pass to try and keep the fuel cooler and to make damn sure we dont run out, so its just easier. not to mention taking the record from a nitrous bike in the aps f class (NA) was pretty sweet

Interesting thread

Gunner,
it seems you have trouble believing that Henry's bike ran in the fuel class for the reason stated by Scott?
Me personally, I 110% believe it.
And not simply because CMG are ethical folks.

When I was running that bike, I always ran in MPS/Fuel class,
AND when I was running my asphalt Busa (Greenie), i ran in MPS/Fuel
AND when i ran RustBucket Roller at Bonneville I ran in MPS/Fuel.

Why run in Fuel?
Simply for the reason Scott said, to avoid having to go find the fuel guy to add gas under supervision.
I added fresh, cool fuel pretty much after ea pass

Does a 1/2 gallon of cooler fuel add hp?
Probably not.
But topping up as part of the routine, assures you won't run out.
Running out can be REAL bad.
At Loring 2010, during my 1st event/1st pass on Greenie i lost fuel pressure and holed a piston; goddamn fuse!!!.
Same thing would have happened if i has simply run out of gas = bad ju-ju.

I say a BIG congrats for CMG Racing for preparing & running the WORLD'S FASTEST NA KAWASAKI!!!!!
I am VERY proud of you guys!!!!!
Karl

I run in the fuel class, also.
for exactly the same reasons as stated above.
my first year at the bub ~~ I ran in the gas class and had to chase that fuel truck , a tech inspector or whatever. after every run.
-- to top off that 1.25 gallon tank. big mistake for me, that gas class.

In '08 the bike was entered in fuel . and each year since.
now I top off a one gallon tank with the same shell 93 pump .

cheating on the 222 and 226 ? I doubt that very much.
I have to say those involved would not want a cheated record.
from limestone last weekend or any other time.
again, Congrats to Henry , Scott and Shane .

Thanks guys. No we didn't use N2o. The bike ran excellent! Had a lot of fun.
Karl the mrx02 proved to be a good replacement for the c44. There are a lot of good folks who were at the event who know we were NA. So I'm good with that. Not sure it's important. Trying to catch them 1635s would be something!!!

Questioning why the bike was run in a fuel class while claiming a spec fuel class record should be expected. Calling and asking a tech director to question if one of probably hundred of entries is legal or not. If he does his job he's going to compare the bike to the class it was entered which happens to allow everything in question here. Being a Kawasaki loyalist and a avid 12R supporter no one wants the bike legal more than I. The record means little if anything to me since I don't have any desire to compete against it. In fact had Shane not dragged the bike or the record into this thread I wouldn't have a clue who ran what or where. It really means very little to me. All I care about is proving the 12R was abandoned long before it reached it's true potential. I've stated that the speed it ran is respectable if it was on spray or juiced up fuel. On the other end of the stick is it fair to the people that use the spec fuel to compete for gas records if other teams are allowed to go around the rules that mandate the use use of spec fuel?

CMG I applaud your efforts building the bike in question in this thread. I think both your efforts and the bikes performance are exceptional.
