Guys I have to make a serious choice

I have a guy that wants to buy my zx12r. They came to see the bike today.He is a 34 year old black guy with a beautiful family.Hot lookin wife and 2 fine young teenage boys.He is an ex marine and now he is a police officer.The spitting image of the american family and dream.

Now the hard part.He will pay my asking price of 5500 bucks and that is a steal for this bike.After about 20 mins of talking I said hey what kind of bike do you have now and he said none.I ask what kind of bikes have you had in the past and he said none ,I have never owned a bike.Then I ask have you ever even rode any bike and he said NO.........................My wife said don`t sell it to him.My 25 year old son said no to him.My best riding buddy who has the same 12,14r ,zx11 ,h1 said NO.I told the guy after he told me all this that this is way way to much for any first time bike owner....He said he would pick it up Monday and his wife looked not so happy about it..........Also he told me he owns a 2012 Challenger.

Could you sell it and sleep at night without it hanging over your head

Tough call - normally I would say take the money and run - in this case maybe you should talk some sense into him -'or tell him to join up and post so people here can talk some sense into him. Ulitmately money talks so I suppose he can buy anything he wants if he has the cash.

12 was my second bike, after a few months of self taught riding on an old honda 450. i felt safer on the 12 than that noodle framed, no brake old thing. i just didn't open the throttle more than 1/3. IF this guy has the self restraint, he could be fine (tho it was still be kinda hard to learn on a 12 i'd think, snatchy throttle and all).

i'd be tempted to tell him to first go to a rider school and get his license using one of their school bikes. then come pick it up.

if he doesn't buy yours, he's going to buy someone else's.

on your receipt ( with VIN numbers, $ , date , etc. ) ~~~ not responsible for damages to bike or person ;
operate at your own risk ; sold as is. and a signature from each.
I would have the title notarized with both buyer and seller present.

Well my serious problem kinda fixed it`s self .The buyer text me that his credit union would only loan him money on a 2007 or newer bike.It probably saved his life for a little while....

surely wouldn't sell to a noob a 12R, they would just die in days...No test rides either.

get a release of liability form (if your state does that?), & make several copies of the form with his signature w/date/time or it could come back to haunt you (I know a guy who's bike sold 3 years ago came back to haunt him after sitting totaled in a tow-yard, new owner never registered it & died on it, & the registration was still in his name= tow yard & DMV fines all came back to him. He's still dealing w/it...
