Help.. identifying "new" K&N filter from "old"??
Howdy... maybe I missed this topic already, but how do if the K&N filters my dealer is getting in are the "new" improved (ie: fixed is what I understand) and not simply old stock from the warehouse.
is there a different part # er something?
thanks

I thought the new ones had harder plastic around the ends makin them easier to remove.
needless to say I have the original ones....they are currently out of the bike now..if noone replies by tonight..Ill go look and see if it has any markings on it other than the "FRONT" one.

The old ones are soft...like neoprene. The new ones have a "hardened frame" similiar to the stockers.

hmm - does the hard plastic negetively effect the filter?? Seems like even though the soft plastic was a pain in the ass to get in/out, it would "smoosh" into place better, and thus filter better?
