I NEED SWINGARM ADVICE

Ok guys, now that I have 2 swingarms, I'm sending the fooked up one to be extended.

I REALLY, REALLY want the adjustability-factor, but I'm concerned about all this "how do I support the brake bracket" nonsense.

I'm thinking that I want a 0" - 4" adjustable arm.
Supposedly, my stock brake bracket will not work.

What are my options??? Are people just bolting on a new, diagonnal support arm or is there another option?

This one's not adjustable, but a nice pic. none the less.

I am speaking from a "Little" Experience here I have 2 suggestions. #1, Send it to Doug at Spencer Cycle. #2, Ask if they can modify the brake bracket with a 1/2" thick by 1" wide bar that slides under the Billet extension. That way, you can have "Full adjustability" and strength in resisting movement when on the brakes. I will draw a picture and fax it to doug if no one gets the picture!

If life is not hard enough and you feel the need for punishment foe wanting the "0" part, Get in touch with me and I will tell you where to send it for sure :oops

That's assuming you use the rear brake anyway....

So how's a bike handle in the twisties after an extension like that? Does it help to back it in a 30 mph curve at 75?

Dayton Ohio?? Head South East The extension must be removed and remounted where the 0 to 4 or 0 to 6 keep to chains and a bunch of press on and rivet master links and a serious chain tool T will do my Lasn Speed Racing and some Drag Racing then change for June July and August and late September change back for Land speed racing!

Bumping!

Is anyone using an adjustable are is everyone at fixed length!??!

As I mentioned above, I *already* have the swingarm! It's the same one that got fooked up when my rim bearing went out.

im ordering the bolt on extensions...best bang for the buck IMO.

I was a bit leery of the "strength" issue just by lookin at the pictures..but seeing them on Ricks GSXR1000....those damn things look 10x stronger than the arm itself.

Very very solid piece of work...has me sold.

Max-V (Doug Spencers X-partner???) did John's when he was still with Doug...nuther words...it went through Doug's shop...I think...

AS DOUG SAID...John's adjusts fine although John's IS only 4-6 over...
They just make the "slot" that rides on the swingarm tab longer by adding a piece to it to make it longer...
WORKS FINE!!!

MAX-V was NEVER a "partner". I ONLY rode a drag bike he had. Thats all.

As for the swingarm YES we do them and yes the brake provision is a longer slot milled into the block that we weld in the arm. i do not have pictures of the slot..but you do use your stock caliper bracket wiht our arms...we only modifie your claiper braket to work.
