change tire equipment
What equipment and tools can be purchased to put new motorcycle tires on and balance them? How hard is it to learn and do once I own all the equipment necessary?
A list of all the different things that are needed would be helpful? Part numbers and model numbers would be helpful? Any pictures would be helpful?
Why dont more people change their own tires?
Thank you.

I came across this extremely detailed how-to guide online that I find to be very helpful with understanding it all.

tire changing
YEP! that is the first article that I came across too. I followed it and everything went well. I also made my own wheel balancer. I used rollarblade ABEC5 bearings. It worked out well. Now I change the tires on my zx12r, my wife's zx9R, and my son's dirtbike. It's pretty easy after you do it a couple of times and the money and time you save makes it worth your effort.

Handy sells a nice setup for about $150. Ive seen it in action too. Looks good. I would have a tire machine..but lack space right now. In the near future, I will have a mounting and balancing machine.

Harbor Freight sells a pretty good tire machine. You can get it on sale for $34.99. You also need the motorcycle adapter ($20.00)
