Gearing the 12

Does anyone have a formula or easy way to determine RPM in gears. Specifically 5th and 6th with different sprocket combinations I am at 16X50 now which uses all of 5th in the 1320. Prob need to go 17 front or maybe 48 rear as its tight. But I am looking for LSR (of course with no place to test) and thinking 18 and 43??? with standard rear tire and needing to know what I might need to get about 205 at max RPM. Am setting up a dyno appt soon to figure out where my max RPM is Running an LM2 so tach should be correct. Just don't want to own a lot of sprockets and waste time changing setup.

If TX Mile has the notorious headwinds at your weight you will need the stars align to crack 2 on those size jets. Not trying to discourage you, we just tend to see a lot of people shoot higher than they end up and get bummed out.

OH Mile has the cross at the back 1/3 or so mile before the traps. Longer shut down than TX.

Good luck. Also, bring spare sprockets. If I'm out there with my 12 I ususally have spares but trying to find someone at the right time out there is tough when we can be at different ends of the track, etc. I'd invest in a 45 and 44 and come on out, have some fun.

Lark (Jeff), meet shiphteey (Ali).

Ali is a long time LSR friend of mine and knows more about running a N2O on a ZX12 at LSR than anyone else.

Ali,
it would be a personal favor to me if you help Jeff in his quest to achieve 200mph at the Texas Mile in March.
He has been asking me questions about running a Zx12 and I am OK about general stuff, but as you know, I am completely clueless about N2O.

Lark, I am running 18/41 and still want to phantom shift into 7th. The engine braking sucks with such tall gearing but it feels like thwre is just a little more to be squeezed out on the top end. I want to try going up on the front sprocket.
Anybody got a spare 20 tooth! I have seen one on here but forget what Guy had it on his. Any info would be appreciated.

Looks like my system is back up.....see if this sticks!!! Think I will get a couple of rears as you say for Texas, have an extra wheel so I can have 2 set up. Just made room reservations, not so much left there. For the 1/4th I think will leave gears as is for now and use up 5th and more if it needs it..the air shifter should help there if I need 6th. The bike bumped the limiter in 5th last year but it was past the trap, not sure how far past. Got the NOS on with 32 jet no test ride yet. Putting air shifter on today, wiring it up. Then the data logger...Not so sure about air fuel ratios should be with / without the NOS. I am thinking high 12's without using it and maybe low 12's if I plan on spraying???
