Better steering head bearings?

So.... HAS anyone offered a better/stronger etc etc steering head bearing setup for the 12? Has anyone here perhaps (or maybe will volunteer to now) researched the availability of some compatible aftermarket bearings?

Tightening these things is driving me nuts.....

Never once on the Ducati, 3 times in one season on the 12.... come on alreadY!

That's as good as it gets...

I'm not sure if the "quality" of the bearings would have any effect on the ability of the retaining nuts to remain properly tight. The torque specs for these rettaining nuts seem to be consistent with that of other bikes.

Unlike the 12R, my 7R had roller bearings. I don't think that roller bearings would easily interchange with what's currently used on the 12R. Roller bearings would require "taller" races and I don't think that there is enough space in the steering head to accomodate the taller races. I'm sure that the "weight issue" probably had something to do with KHI's choice of steering head bearing configuration.

Still, the issue seems to be the tightness of the retaining nuts and NOT the bearings themself. There hasn't been any reports of actual bearing failure. Just the the retaining nuts getting loose. Though the torque specs are extremely low, has anyone thought of using some form of loctite on thse nuts?
