oil pan leak
Looks like I have a small oil leak at the right front corner of the oil pan. Anyone have this happen yet? Torquing down the bolts did not help.
If it does not stop it, anything I should look out for if I have to change the gasket out? Is it a big deal changing it out? Anything worth doing or looking for while I am in that area?
Only have about 5000 mi. on it, it's an '02. Just regular hard use, no track days or racing of any kind. Have had no other problems with it. Small leak not enough to affect the oil level at the sight glass yet.
Followup:
It was still under warranty, took it to the dealer, they replaced the oil pan gasket and they also replaced the clutch cover gasket and the tow o-rings that go behind the sight glass assembly, they did this just in case.
Day after I see that the oil seepage is back in the same area, pretty sure now that the clutch cover and sight glass are NOT at fault. So it's either the oil pan or that freeze plug? above and to the right of the sight glass. Dealer is ordering new gasket, is concerned that oil pan is maybe warped or case is bad, or some sort of burr at the mating surface. Anyone have any ideas or similar experience?
