A Hi-Po 700cc V-Twin Quad???? Man that thing looks like it'd be major fun!!! Can't wait to ride one, rode the Raptor and liked it, but not as much as I like the Banshee. Overall the little 350 twin is my favorite. If you've never ridden one that has had some motor work and a good set of pipes you don't know what you're missing. Roost city bay-bee!!!!

Sorry about the link, I just picked a link with a picture. If you notice, the Kaw link doesn't go direct to the KFX700 picture.

The reports I've heard are the thing SMOKES the little 1 banger Raptor. It needs the extra weight apparently to keep the fucking thing on the ground and as for the automatic it's the "only way to go" for a competitive machine (needs it so as to concentrate where you are going, not trying to find that stupid shifter). Go ride a killer snowmobile youll undersand! lol

I guess it depends on what kinda riding you do.. That thing wont be able to keep up with me where I ride. just the woopdie doos would have you begging us to slow down
The motor is a hopped up prarie 650 motor.. the prarie is as fast or faster than the raptor but is made for a totally different kind of riding..
I personally would just go ahead and get the prarie if weight and handling wasnt an issue.
not bad looking though

but id still prefer the raptor

I don't think the Raptor is in too much trouble... yet.
Raptor 660R vs. KFX 700
Transmission: 5 speed / Automatic
Suspension: 9.1"f & 8.7"r / 9.25"f & 7.5"r
Seat height: 33.9" / 33.5"
Ground clr.: 4.5" (at rear disc) / 6.3" (at rear axle)
Height: 45.3" / 46.9"
Width: 43.3" / 47.1"
Length: 72" / 78"
Wheelbase: 49" / 50.8"
Dry weight: 398 lbs. / 516 lbs.
Unless those 40 extra cc's make 20% more HP and torque (after what gets eaten up by the automatic tranny)... a "Raptor Killer", it ain't. Still looks like it'd be a lot of fun, though.
Now the KFX 400 is a completly different can 'o worms. It could be a real threat to the Banshee. The KFX 400 weighs 16 pounds less and has 50 more cc's. The 400 also has a five speed (plus reverse).

The Raptor is a great quad but I still prefer my Banshee!!I've raced a couple raptors and I really don't see why everyone thinks they are so fast, maybe they could beat a stock banshee??But mine only has pipes, jets and lower gearing for the trails, and the raptors that I raced were stock but I handled them very easily!!

For the record a the stock raptor gearing is to high. Shift a stock raptor into 5th gear wide open on the flats and she falls on her face, slows down. It is geared to tall. Now drop a tooth in the front and she pulls like a wild dog. As for comparing the raptor to the banshee, lets talk apples and apples. Bone stock without your mods against the bone stock raptor you spoke of.
And why people like them is they have power, easy to get more, and they are a water cooled four stroke you can run in the woods, lug, chug or scorch the earth. Do that with a banshee and you need to bring a pocket full of plugs! But a good running banshee with a pipe is awfully sweet.
My Raptor has a Yosh full exhaust, jet kit, K&N Filter and I dropped a tooth on the countershaft sprocket. Coming out of corners in third gear she wheelies on one wheel looking for a place to slam you into the ground. As with motorcycles and cars, there is always someone out there with a hotter machine. But the Raptor can be ridden fast or slow, the Banshee especially is a typical two stroke that needs to be on the pipe to make power. The raptor will lug down to a point that you can't beleive it is running.

Zhooligan hit the nail right on the head. A Banshee really responds to pipe, jetting and gearing changes. So does a Raptor. I'm sure most of you have seen the pics I have posted here of my wife on her Raptor. (you can tell I'm proud of her riding abilities ) At 105 lbs she throws everything at us from mud to rocks and sticks that look like small trees. BUT.......with a Yosh full system, K&N Filter, Jet kit and 1 tooth down on the front LOOK OUT! The difference is easily the same as a good pipe,(AKRO...heh heh......thought I'd sneek that in there.) PCIIIR,K&N and 1 tooth down on a 12R. No kidding........a stock Raptor is a pussycat compared to one set up that way. The K&N kit came as one comeplete package........probably the same one Zhooligan bought. zx9r.........do yourself a favor and set yours up exactly the same way........you WON'T be sorry.
