Nutec mapping
What changes if any did you guys make to mapping to take "advantage" of Nutec Spec4/5?

w/spec 5 the af was almost identical to that tuned for pump gas - NO changes were made.

my results was the same. One of the cool things I've seen with Nutec and road racing is we can/could map or jet the bike and run pump for practice and Nutec for the race.
I have seen the same results with the ZX12, R1, R6, RC51, VTR1000, 954, and TLR1000. Could more be squeezed out of it with more mapping or tuning perhaps. But the results have been damn good without wearing the old bike out on the dyno!

Entropy- Your A/F didn't change on the dyno but the power did, right? What did you pickup and where (approx.)? The reason I ask is that I don't know one person who has actually mapped for Nutec and recorded any power differences. Many have dyno'd before and after, but so far I haven't seen any solid results from a mapping change for Nutec. Ryan Schnitz may know the answer but I assume he's in route back from Gainsville. Did you try mapping changes on Nutec to see if adding more fuel or leaning it out made a difference in power (regardless of A/F ratio), or did you just say F'it since it picked up without changing the map? We all know that a perfect A/F ratio doesn't always yield the most power. I've seen some bikes that have crazy variations necessary to achieve the maximum power throughout the curve.

i went from 194 to 204 just by taking out the pump gas and replacing it with Nutec . Before/after same day. The increase was throughout the rpm range, adding about 5% hp everywhere. Since the af didn't change (13+/-) w/the Nutec, i just said "F'it", didn't try optimizing af for the Nutec.
Then we tried dropping the adv from 5 to 2 and LOST 3-5 hp; put back the 5 deg adv.
I then tried cutting the nutec with 104 track gas 50/50; lost 5 hp at peak.
The only thing I wonder about is why to take the sp5 out of the tank? What exactly does it affect if left in the system for long periods of time.

Thanks for the info, greatly appreciated. I guess we will map the bike on pump gas, and do the switch like you did. My bike doesn't have an advancer in it right now, so I will pick one up and give it a try. We picked up just shy of 5hp on the red bike using a Muzzys mechanical advancer so I'll give it a whirl and see how it goes.

Entropy.... The worry on the Nutec left in the tank is that according to the experts ie the factory teams they have seen some issues with the seals, o-rings etc. in the fuel system that the suspected problem is that the Nutec is causing expedited deteriation. So they take it out and put back in the barrel. I persoanlly run Nutec in my 12 about 75% of the time. When I do park it for any length of time I vacuum the tank out and put in some pump gas with a little fuel stabilizer. As of yet I have not seen any adverse wear or noticeable problems.
I was not a believer in Horsepower in a can until I witnessed the results of Nutec. Certainly there are some additives oput there that give results, but Nutec as a fuel works. I have seen some additives that Mike Velasco has locked in his top secret cabinet that a wiff of the fuel makes your liver hurt, and will put you on your knees. And mistaken breath will knock you down!! I am sure Doug and Rob have similar stories.

Reminds me of my brother when he's on a garlic binge. How much power did you gain with your 1361 on Nutec?
