Super Sic killed in MotoGP
Great rider killed by injuries he got when lost control of his bike and collied with Edwards and Rossi. Lost his helmet during the accident and the medical team couldn't help him. R.I.P.

I saw the video on ESPN. Helmet came off when he slid into Colin Edwards and was hit in the head by Edward's motorcycle. Can't remember the name, but another rider died in much the same way a couple years ago when his head was run over as he slid on the tarmac (but helmet stayed on).
I didn't see him race much myself. Some seem to think that he took too many chances and was too agressive. Others say he had the talent to be a champion soon. Either way, sad end for a young 24 year old. RIP.

Colin's bike hit him in the lumbar region. Valentino's bike struck him in the neck, then ran over his head. His father confirmed that he was dead even before he was loaded into the ambulance.
He was a rookie, and was just learning how to ride the 800's, so it's not surprising that he made some mistakes. Still, he managed two poles and two podiums and was fifth in the championship. Already a World Champion in 250, Marco was being groomed to take over for his mentor, Rossi, as the most charismatic Alien in the paddock.
Racing was a better place with him in it. He will be missed. Godspeed, Marco.

You are correct tcchin. Later (after I had posted) I saw a photo from the front that made this clear.
