Advice on a map setup

Hey guys, so all the dynos around me are booked out over 4 weeks, and i just reassembled my bike over the last couple months. Here is what i have on the bike mod wise, and i was hoping someone might have a similar setup and a map to go with it. I have K&N air filters, Kleen air removed and crankcase hose mod done. I have a muzzy header that runs to a straight pipe (i really like loud bikes, and where i live they don't cause any issues locally) and I have a PCIIIr which i read allows ignition timing to change without the use of a fixed advancer such as muzzy's or factory pro's. I usually went +4 degrees on my last two bikes...but not sure what is running on these 12's. +2.5 i think i read somewhere but i was unable to confirm that. I don't have the PC hooked up currently as i bought it from someone and i wasn't sure the map that was on the bike and i haven't read up on how to reset it yet. The bike i believe runs super rich right now becaue 0-3.5k there is litterally 0 power and it bogs really really bad. There is significant backfire and flame as well...also before i did all of this, it seemed to be faster...i was able to beat a couple busa's and 1k gixxers that i raced and now....i had an 01 gsxr 1k pull on me....so i am hoping getting a map installed with correct the issue...let me know your thoughts please.

Janinja,

To get the best performance out of the bike I would get it dyno-tuned or purchase a datalogger and tackle the tuning(real-world tuning) yourself.

You will find on the board that alot of people will recommend the above. You can purchase a datalogger for about 200 -300 used, and a custom dyno-tune would be about the same.

But...the maps that Dave has on his site will be a good start...

Yeah that was the first site i went to and i've tried about 4 different maps from there...I am using one of them currently and it has seemed to solve my top end power issue, however down low it sounds like i have a muscle car...it pulsates from 1300-2000 when you let it idle and still at 2500rpms it is just a DOG ...almost like you have to snap the throttle over that point to get the bike going...i am still waiting on the dyno ...3 weeks out still, and i know that is obviously the only way to resolve the issue to the best of the ability but i appreciate the help regardless.
