Monster Bike

http://www.allpar.com/cars/concepts/tomahawk.html
The Dodge Tomahawk can reach 60 miles an hour in about 2.5 seconds, and has a theoretical top speed of nearly 400 mph. Each pair of wheels is separated by a few inches and each wheel has an independent suspension. Bernhard said four wheels were necessary to handle the power from the engine.

400 mph my ass. With those aerodynamics? A turbocharged ZX-11 with 459 rwhp could only manage 236 mph a few years back.

I doubth anyone was intended to believe those optimistic speed predictions, but it is worth a look.

incidentally, this 400mph thing seems to have occurred as a result of a game of "phone". the press release i saw, the "official" one, said 300mph. somewhere along the line one or 2 articles said 400. maybe a typo? i dont know. but crysler claimed it would do or approach 300, which _may_ be possible with all those horses...but i doubt it. what's the fastest busa? 250mph? and that's with something like 400hp isnt it? well with the inferior areos of the tomahawk, and the exponential nature of drag, i doubt those 150 or so extra ponies would make up the difference. in fact, i'd bet the tonahawk can't do much better than 250.

I think that they threw this bike on a dyno, and some marketing 'genius' saw it go 300 or 400 mph on the dyno and just assumed that it could do it in the real world too....
