Hey fellas, I sent an email to Ron and Nancy at tailofthedragon.com they were kind enough to post the DG5 event on there website listing of events, so we have made their calander. I am sure that if we go up to the lookout one day with the banner, we can get some killer pics and get them up on their website as well as the zone....just and idea? Any thoughts?
hey there Admins..I have a suggestion, how about we change the board area that was dedicated to DG2002, ad update it to DG5, adn 2003?? then we can use it to track who is coming, adn where everyone will be staying, and how long they will be there....just and idea????

well I just hit the website...they got it up already, only mistake I saw was that they mistook DG5 as being the 5th year of the event, instead of the 5th time there as the group...oh well.....

Time To Start Some Trouble
Although I like getting the "PUB", I'm not sure if I want to advertise our run. We typicaly sssstttrrreeeccchhh the bounds of the law and wouldn't want to put a red flag.

there are always cops cruising to at least the overlook now, they are on hire by the owners of hte land there. (alcoa)
anyway just remember first run, be good and scope for tree-mounted cops with video cameras

I guess Melissa, Lucky and I shouldn't have had them put us on thier calander for DG I & II, as well, eh?
Go to http://www.tailofthedragon.com/calendar.html and you'll see that we're probably going to be the only group up there for months.

hey Red, looking at the calander, May looks to be pretty busy....almost every weekend there is someone there...
He I didnt mean to step on anyones toes, and I dam sure dont care to get a ticket if the post attracts the cops. My intent was, and I thought the intent of the ride was, to get a bunch of guys/friends/future friend together to have a good timne, get some good miles, and talk a lot of smack.....If I was mistaken then I apoligize....I thought that this was intended for everyone, and that anyone was welcome...Personally I like to meet as many of you as I can so i can can steal ideas for my bike from yours.....lol
and to ride with a bunch of great guys, and gals.....
I will submit any further actions for approval through the gap board members from here on out to make sure that I am not dissin anyone ya'll..again , I apoligize....

There's so much shit that goes on there (I found over 10 Miata clubs having events there that are not on the TOD calander), that putting us on there doesn't make a hill of beans difference to the cops. One time we were there, there was a Ferrari ralley with over 100 cars going through the Gap. Another time, there was atleast 50+ squidly kids an their WRXs. Now that brought the cops out. A couple wen in the "ditch" that weekend.
My point is that no apoligy necessary for good work!

hey Pastor, lets keep our fingers crossed that our event doesnt have anything like that happen, that would really put a damper on the riding to have a comrade go down......
I know what you are saying, I have ridding all the way there, to ride the Dragon and find it too busy and leave...hour and a half ride to get there....that sucked.//...

Like I said earlier.....Good work.
Hopefully there will be some ZX12 owners that do want to come for the get-together reason, not just to see who can be the fastest across the mountain. There's nothing like having your ego handed to you by some old geezer on a Gold Wing when you thought you were really flying (Don't ask me how I know)
There is still a bunch of people on these board's who I would like to meet, visit and ride with.

had a civic or something come up behind us last year, he was going much faster on the straights then i was willing to go. prolly 70 or 80
i waved the sob past, just to make sure he didnt underbrake me on a corner or something ;P
in tight stuff was easy to follow, but again, i didnt go over 45 or so on the straights (this was back when the speedlimit was 40)
anyway i'll go throught he gap once or maybe 2x in a day, but i wont be there cruising anymore like we used to do. it's just a way to get to other roads now with that draconian 30mph crap limit.

I am actually going to do a 1 day ride tht weekend, make it about 250-300 miles..am looking at going over to tellico plains, down to Suches, over to Clayton across Warwoman, up 28 through Highlands, and taking Wayah rd back towords the Dragon.....its gonna be some miles, and some of the best riding roads in the area....Maybe stop in Suches and see Britt and GT...and get some chow....I wanna hit Blood Mountain too...man is that a hoot....

What I was refering to is the idea of turning the Deals Gap portion of the board from 2002 to 2003, and using it to track the people that are comming to, and where they are staying, and when they will be there....just a thought, its a portion of the board tha thand been used in months......
