Derestrictor 2005 model

I have a 2005 model zx 12. Got a derestrictor from local shop in South Africa. Installed the module and following happend. During first 5 gears limit is at +- 12200, but when 6th is engaged [Not sure what speed or revs] at high speed reading the fI light comes on and bike limits at 11500 now.
Switched ignition of and normal reading and revs at first but same thing happens when 6th gear is engaged. I disconnected the derestrictor and thankfully everything was ok again.
My question then: Do you get a derestrictor for a 2005 model and what is wrong with the derestrictor? I did follow the connection instructions carefully. I did phone the manufacturer today and he said he would look into the problem.

get a nikko racing G-pack....specificly for 04-05.
it only removes the top speed restriction.
if your looking to raise the rev limit, you can contact Ace performance to reflash your ECU

At what revs does the limiter kick in, in top gear for the 300 restriction. Looked at the g-pack and they are talking about moving it from 10 000 to 10 900, surely not correct?

I read the details you saw....i dont recall there being but one rev limit in the ECU.
If my memory is correct the ECU limit is 11600...but some gauges will vary....
For what its worth....unless your running LSR events....you need not worry about the limiter.
do some math on stoping distances at 186mph, factor in the variables on an open public road, and
ask yourself...Is this what I need to be doing?
Just be Safe, and find a sanctioned event, then you will find if you need to persue additional mods.
Sorry I didnt have the info you needed

Yep do agree that you can only use it on special occasions. We do have a top end runs +- 4 times a year in our area, nice to do that on occasion. Its just amazing to be able to run those speeds on a machine so cheap compared to the 4 wheel versions.
