You dont need a gun in canada?
Theres no murder,rape,or crime in canada?
Look at England sence they have outlawed guns several years ago.
Murder with a firearm is up and climbing there.
Look at the numbers it will wake you up.
The same thing is happening in Austrailia.
Criminals buy thier guns illegaly, they carry them illegally, and then they kill, and thats illegal.
Anyone who takes the time to look at the numbers you will see that the places in the USA that have the highest crime rates(and always have) have all but made guns illegal.
Yet they have the highest murder rate.
If a punk knows you(law abiding joe)doesnt have a gun(because its illegal)then you are at his mercy. They know this. They dont care if the gun they bought from a guy on the street is illegal and that they are carrying it illegaly.
If you think that outlawing guns will lower crime then you are very ignorant and dont bother to fing out the facts for yourself.
Unfortuneatly all you see on the mainstream media is anti gun propaganda designed to change public opinion towards an anti gun america and world.
The NRA is out spent $8 to $1 here in the usa. The anti gun people are spending ALOT more than the NRA does.
Its not even close.
Yet all you here about is the NRA and how they lobby in washington and how much money they have.

I used guns mainly for target shooting, NRA comventional and international. Have won the Fla Championship seven times and done real well internationally with the Free pistol. As far as carrying a weapon, don't do that but do have a permit. Here is a 45 rapid fire target from a match at Camp Perry 100 10X. By the way my second was a 100 7X and did not win the rapid fire match. A marine shooter had a 200 18X!

N4G, what do you prefer? A Colt Gold Cup?
I've never been a big .45acp fan.
I've loaded quite a bit of it using bullseye and AA#5 for my buddy, he loves the 1911 .45
The Para. P-12 is a nice piece. A bit heavy but solid.

The Gold Cup would not be adequate for any serious shooting. They are better than a regular colt but would not group tighter than 5 inches or less at 50 yards. I have two Giles and two Clarks. One of the Giles, with the present barrel, will group 1 3/4 inches at 50 yards.
I do have to reload because of the amount of shooting I do but it is best to use factory ammo. I usually test different lots of Federal on a Ransom rest and buy all I can. If you reload the H&G with 3.6 grains of Bullseye is good. You would need a fairly weak spring but it has very little recoil. The Hornady 185 grain bullets are not bad, a bit pricey, but for some reason you can load those at 4.2 and get about the same recoil. They are jacketed, never figured out why but are more accurate than the cast 185 H&Gs.
For the Center Fire matches I don't use the 38 just use the 45 again. For 22 I use the Smith 41 with 7 3/4 barrel out of the box. Have tried several conversions, but keep going back to the same.

N4G, that's nice shooting!!! I can't come close with my stock guns. Always figure if I can draw and hit a lightswitch size target the length of my house away then good enough. Also, there are guys I work with that would scoff at my collection. Like for my bike, I always wish for more accessories.

12R I know what you mean, you can never have enough. Might want to try an air pistol for indoor shooting. They are the most accurate shooting devices. A Feinwerbau is a nice one. You shoot at ten Meters and the 10 ring is much smaller than a dime. Five shots per target. you should usually get something that looks like one hole only!!!
That is only shot in international events like the free pistol. That is shot at 50 meters and the ten ring is smaller than the X ring on the regular target. The trigger pull is very light. Mine is set a 72 grams. That is what they call a hair trigger, its own weight will set it off.

It your choice TGPWR
... but it saddens me that replies to you opinion would cause you to remove it from this thread. I, and I'm sure many others, did not have the oppertunity to read what you once chose to share with us. Odds are, I doubt if I would have agreed with your views, but I would have been grateful for you taking the time to share it.
IMHO, the removing of one's post after being flamed, only causes others to wonder how strong one's belief was in what they had originally posted. . Of course, that just my opinion.

Nothing personal... really
It's just that if it is the "truth", not only does the flames that it draws illuminate the ignorance of others (for all to see), but it allows it to shine brighter from the attention it receives. On the other hand, removing it due to the decenting opinions of others, not only deprives everyone else of this "truth", but also allows those that disagree to remain in their blissful and superior feeling ignorance.
Like I said earlier, I feel very confident (judging from what bits and pieces I can gather from the posts of others) that I would mostly likely disagree with your veiwpoint. The part that makes me sad is that because you did choose to remove your post(s) concerning this, I can only learn of what you opinion was from reading the posts from the very members that you feel couldn't handle it.
I my personal experiences, I have share many opinions. Not all of the (a lot, actually) were not always well. Sometimes it was due to my own ignorance (NO reference to you) and other times it just because it was not an opinion that was shared by the "masses". In either case, I did not remove the posts. If it was because I was wrong, it was to show how even an old dog like myself, can learn new tricks. When it was a case of not clear cut right or wrong, It give me an oppertunity to not only better explain my viewpoint, but it allowed me to "educate" them.
It's hard to understand an opinion or realize a "truth"... when it's not there. In that case, all that is there... is nothing.
Anyway, enough of my soapboxing. The nice part about it is that those that have disagreed with me in the past (and will in the future), I had the great pleasure of calling them all kinds of "bitch" names, reminding them of the unbelievable ignorance/stupidity as well as calling them "my friend". Yeah you bitch, harryzx-12... I'm talkin' about you... you gonad sucker!

My thoughts
I am a green 2000 zx-12r owner, and these are the top 10 reasons I own "guns":
1. This is America and according to our constitution, John Ashcroft and the federal legal system it is my right as a citizen;
2. I love to target shoot and blast away at stuff from short to long distances;
3. Robbers, rapists, crack heads etc etc etc can break into my house but they WILL get shot dead - they can even try to run away - but they will only die tired;
4. My girlfriend loves to shoot too (WOOHOO!!);
5. I was brought up in a family that respected firearms and the proper handling and usage of them;
6. My mom shoots;
7. There is nothing like a crisp, clear day at the range with my motorcycle, friends and some serious firepower;
8. Did I mention John Ashcroft is cool?;
9. Clint Eastwood - nuff said there;
10. The police are under no obligation to put themself in the line of fire to protect my butt - AND - it is highly unlikely that I will be able to call in for police help and have it arrive as easily and quickly as I can draw my H&K USP Tactical with TAC Light II from the safe next to my bed....
Guns I currently own:
1. H&K USP Tactical - LOVE it - accurate as hell and looks great too
2. Remington M700 TWS (check it out here http://www.remingtonle.com/rifle/700p.htm)
3. Remington 11-87 12 gauge - Trap/Skeet and Sporting Clays rules all
Ride hard, shoot often, lift heavy, enjoy life.

OH - for all you nut heads that think gun owners are all vigilante idiots - that "they can run but they will only die tired" quote above was a JOKE. The reality is that running from my house would be the SMARTEST thing an idiot criminal ever did

I'm sure my collection looks like the makings of a gun nut's arsenal, too. But the plain truth is that all my guns are like a small block chevy. There's a ton of 'em out there, I know them inside and out and you can get parts and info dirt cheap (in most cases, Cheaper Than Dirt) I dream of nicer high dollar equipment but, right now, what I have does the job.

I'm jellous because I live in NJ and I can't get an AR-15 (just the "match target" stuff). . Your collection looks FANTATIC - NOTHING to be ashamed of!!! Any gun is only as good as its shooter .

Aren't your gun laws being tested in the courts as being too vague? As we speak, I think. There may be hope yet.
