Sup' WARBIRD...I saw the RUSTOLEUM stuff at LOWE"S...~$60 for one car garage...$180 for my three, comes in the tan/buff color to coordinate with my exterior paint...I figure, even if I had to pressure wash or sand-blast the floor, I'll get it under $500...maybe next week...I'll do before and after shots...

Lowes is where I got mine.........same price. I did buy one extra kit just in case I didn't have enough. Figured I could take it back if I didn't use it. Yeah.....it comes in tan or grey. Let me know when you get ready. Just a couple things I found when working with it.

Hey WARBIRD...I think I'll be doing this next week Wednesday...I'm in the position to let the epoxied floor to cure for about a week before I put anything on it...don't know what the weather will be like next Wednesday...

I'll buy 4 kits for the same reason as you did...the garage is totally empty...there's a little half-inch trianglular shaped cracked piece that seperated from the edge of one seam... figure I could just epoxy the piece and stick a thin wedge between the seams to produce a nice bond...then I'll scrub and wash the construction dust outta the way...am I on the right track?

...then etch the dry cement with muratic acid, right?...then what?

...what kind of rollers do I use?

...what do the epoxy or muratic acid solutions do to the felt-like strips between the slabs?

thanks!

Fish, Dino, Zhooligan.......thanks for the compliments guys.

worm~hole.......yes you are on the right track. Your doing it the right way, and thats the best way. I'll see what nap size my roller was. That sounds like a good way to fix that chipped corner. My shop has some cracks......to long to fix that way so I filled them with silicone and painted over them. That way it can expand and contract with the changing temps. My felt was not in good shape to begin with so the silicone went in there too. An "acid" prep wash comes with the kit, don't know if it is muratic acid. Since your concrete is new, I don't feel like you could over prep it. The more the better in my opinion. I rinsed my garage floor 3 times after the acid prep, letting it dry completely inbetween each rinse. If it's cold right now where you live I would suggest running a propane torpedo heater while you were rinsing and drying. That will raise the temp of the concrete and help the product adhere when you put it on. Thats before you apply it, not while you are applying it of course. No moving air while applying.

Read the directions carefully. After you mix the two parts together, it has to sit a while before you can use it. Then....you only have a certain amount of time in which to apply it. You will need two people to get this done with the results you want.

Mix two gallons at first and start applying after the wait period. Use lots of product when rolling.....it will go a long way. Have your partner throw the chips on the wet paint right away. I rolled about 3/ 15 foot strips at a time then my partner tossed the chips on. You can't roll to big of a section so as not to reach the far side when tossing the chips. They will only fly so far. A small hand full and toss about head high. They will fall pretty uniformly......don't be too concerned about them....you'll get the hang of it real quick and your garage floor will turn out just beautiful.

About half way through your first 2 gallons have your friend mix the third. Then it will have sat for the required period by the time you are ready to use it. Again....don't worry....you'll have a routine down in about 20 minutes and be grinning from ear to ear. Your garage will be the envy of the whole neiborhood.

...cool!...I'll have to monitor the weather next week...it does get very hot and dry where I live...I don't think it'll get above 80 degrees (perfect!)...I guess there'll be LOTS of down time between washing and drying (more beer drinking time for me, JATO12, muzbgreen, TReMor, Movistar, & ddpete3! )...I really want to do this right, measure twice, cut once, ya'know?..I'm thinking about applying silicone into the scribe lines (for lack of knowing its proper nomenclature) between the slabs and footings...

...my new neighbors probably think I'm spending too much time and effort in my gearage...sheeeyah!...as if there's any other place to hang out when I'm home!!!...I have set up for cable as well...can't very well miss SPEEDCHANNEL, huh...my mind reels with anticipation

BTW...that is a very nice set-up you have there
