clutch cover replacement questions

OK, so I finally got around to working on my bike after the little incident at the strip. I'm in the process of replacing the cracked clutch cover with a new one. Here are my questions:

1. Can the existing needle bearings and oil seal be reused, or do I have to get new ones?

2. If they can be reused, is there a secret method of getting them out without damaging them?

3. If I do have to replace them, are they a press fit or a slip fit? Do I need a special tool to install them?

Thanks!!!

1. You can reuse the oil seal, but there's no way to safely remove the bearings.

3. They are a press fit. Mike Velasco jumped on the mill and turned out a quick tool for it. Your best move is to take the clutch cover and bearings to a machine shop and have them do it.

Thanks swft!! That's not exactly the answer I wanted to hear, but you just saved me hours of trying to get the existing needle bearings out.

I already did. The dealer wanted $8 each for the needle bearings. Ron Ayers was charging $4.43 each. But, I figured with shipping costs and having to wait 3 weeks, it was a wash. But, I did manage to get a sweet deal on a new cover from eBay.
