BIKERBOYZ ROCK!

Bikerboyz is on the to see list.
I might even buy it when it comes out. Look good on the big tv.
For all youz who are dissin dem Boyz on Bikes.... shame on y'all for showin your age!
I would dare any of you who are 'Holy -er than Hollywood' to step up to the plate. You don't like a movie with Guys doing wheelies? You don't like a movie cause they are speeding?
Show your face.... I'ld like to meet the other riders here - besides my self, who have never done a wheelie, or other stunt.
I have gone beyond the posted speed limit - 200+km, which y'all would consider slow....
And as far as it being a movie about bikes????!!!!
What is your problem with that?
I love the home made stunt movies I catch here and on LA BUSA. Those crappy, low res, take half they day to down load, tiny movies, rock my world! They make me squeel and laugh.
So, now I can see a bike stunt movie in full colour, full screen, with Dolby sound, and y'all think that's a bad thing?
Is your Helmet on too tight?

you'll be singin the blues next year when your insurance rates skyrocket, bikerbastards will do the same thing for sportbikes fast&furious and other such movies did to the import car 'scene' and stuff

but a good point is the parts availability for Rx, GSXR-xxxx, and ninja-xxxx auctions on ebay

not saying noone does wheelies onthe roads, but in traffic is daft. on busy public ropads is stupid. it is why there are always people scrutinizing sportbikes, it is why you cannot do .001 over speedlimit without excesive attention on deal's gap, while the car crossing DY every curve is left be.

know this: every mid-teens to mid 20's punk is gonna see that movie and go "i gahhtaa get me one dese lil sis!" "yo man yuh gahhtaa see this yo" "its jus fer decorashun"

they will buy the latest greatest "cuz i sees it in the movie yo" and try to do those stunts. i'd say 90% of the time in jeans and t-shirt, and in places where it is allowed, without helmet on. as a first bike......

i expect a run on bikes, esp like the ones in that waste of film, costs will go higher due to the demand, and if you haven't already bought one it may be too late to get the good deals ;P perhaps good short-term sales, butin long run it will do nothing to help the public realize that not ALL bikers are stuntahs on the main roads in traffic all the time.

Slug... stupid people will still do stupid things - with or without this moive.
For example....
A woman I saw at Laguna last year with her Busa, lowered, it was still too big for her five foot frame, so what did she do? She wore High Heeled boots of course! Bikes are not fashion accessories.
Passengers are not either - but some of y'all put your girlfriends and your Sidi boots on the same list of gear.

And as far as my rates going up... Bikes are not a Wefare sport - if you can't buy the tires, or pay for the insurance, step off to the side - you'll just break down, cause you haven't spent the time or the funds maintaining your bike - and you'll just get in my way.

Last point...
Oh no, now us Sportbike riders will be thought of by the general public, as 'the bad guys'? We all know that ONLY doctors and Lawyer ride Harleys (yea right).
Good - maybe if those dim witted bad drivers start to believe the hype, they will think twice about cutting me off. They'll be too afraid that I'll bust a cap in their ass - whatever that means.

unfortunately reality and movies are not easily discerned by many folks, and these are folks who probably would never have considered riding a bike

i agree that biking is expensive, BUT to be raped because i happen to ride a bike is not, i repeat, NOT cool. my insurance rate doubled this year, because of newly instituted 'surcharge' in state of tennessee for sportbikes. i of course shopped around, and found that my rates were still better with allstate, there were some places charging twice or 3 times what allstate wanted. there is difference between being a sport only for rich folks, and a sport MADE only for rich folks by ignorant idiots. if i buy an airplane and learn to fly, i expect it to be expensive. i do NOT expect to pay more than the value of the bike for insurance every year. i started riding knowing full well the expense of safety gear, tires, etc. even higher insurance costs per value of the equipment. but there is point where it becomes insane.

unfortunately people perceive bikes EXACTLY as fashion accesories. and this movie will only worsen this affect. those of us who use them as more than a posing instrument and a 'cool im gunna be a stunnah too' will of course be in the hot water for the long term.

as far as the poor image etc: next time you get tailgated by a cop waiting for you to go .001 mph over the limit in 4 lanes of heavy traffic; or next time you and/or your group gets pulled over for something like 'excessive lean angle' and ticketed for reckless driving, because too many kiddies are getting mangled or hurting others on the highways pretending to be 'smoke' just remember, i guess it isn't a welfare sport.
note also legislation against motorcycling of all forms, most notably on offroad types, but nothing stops them from moving to street oriented machinery besides public opinion.
and for drivers out there who kill, maim or mutilate bikers, use this sort of thing as the excuse, "oh well he deserved it he was riding one of those death machines" or "oooh look an organ donor! hey kids look at that guy trying to get himself killed!"

i agree stupid people will always do stupid things, but thankfully their imaginations are rather limited. by giving them ideas, with equipment that we have and use legitimately, esp with an already negative public image due entirely TO that sort of behavior, is a far cry from any sort of real entertainment. spending more money on insurance, registration, etc is not my idea of entertaining.

sorry i just hate seeing people make an a$$ out of themselves, and that being the assumption made when i park my bike at the store, that i am exactly like them. just because i ride a bike. it's same thing as saying: "oh he looks mexican, he must be a lazy SOB" no basis for that judgement other than sterotype and assumptions.

Slug - no matter what you pay for insurance, I'm sure it will never feel like being 'RAPED' - unless you've been inside, and are speaking from experience . Then sorry Dude.

And fuck you - I do look cool on my bike!!

And the more squids that buy fast bikes - well that just fine - I like pulling up to Starbucks and getting off my bike - being a Girl, and having my tires scrubbed over more than Any Guy!!!

Slug, I guess you and Me are the only two riders here who have never stunted.

Good to meet you bro - we'll have to meet up for a ride.

... All the things you list in your post - they were happening last year man.
Kids were buying bikes too big, not wearing gear, stunting, wrecking, killing themselves, pushing the rates up, making the cops crazy.

This is the way it was before the movie. Why will things be different after?

I wish I could agree with you and say all the evil in the world was shown on t.v. - BEFORE it happened for real.... but Sluggy Baby, it doesn't work that way.

At least in my corner of the word.

So, sit back relax, enjoy - it is after all ONLY a movie...

I posted this on another site about the movie:

If the movie tries to attach a gang banger ganster rap image to the sport of motorcycling.... well I can't say that I care for it....

That's all we need... more ammo to support the stereotype that all motorcyclist (particularly those on sportbikes) are a bunch of gang banging hoodlums on two wheels....

oh ya, and if this movie motivates gang bangers to go out and buy bikes, then I don't like it...

And if this motivates gang bangers to add sportbikes as a part of their image... Then I like it even less.....

They're not going to put more cops on the street than there already are because of a movie. Cops have better things to do than see this movie. They already have their opinions.

I look good on my bike no matter what movie is put out.

I will see the movie, for free, or on dvd, but not for 20 bucks for me and my g/f.

I already pay for insurance for it to sit in my garage while i workl halfway across the country....what's another couple hundred for it to sit there while I still have no time to ride it... I basically pay so I can ride it when I go to LS in July.

I would rather pay 6.50 for a box of used condoms...

That movie sucked ass so bad its fucking pathetic...

If I rode my bike to the movie I would be embarassed to ride it home...

Don't have to worry about insurance going up I dont even feel like riding nobody will go see it...

Its was so false it was sickening

1. Kid was trying to outrun the world on a 750 GSXR...

2. How many drag races you see go back and fourth 10 times before its over.. Every one did here..

3. How many times you went out an run your 200 horsepower streetbike in the rain???

4. Kid ran down a Honda Blackbird from behind on a 750 Gsxr..

5. Drag race down a dirtroad on the two fastest prodyction bikes made... Give me a damn brake...

6. Every drag race was in a town like setting to enclosed for any real racing..

7. The one time they do get to a track cops close it down????

I could go on all night........

ANYONE WHO RIDE OR KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT BIKES..... THIS MOVIE WILL INSULRT YOUR INTELLIGENCE....

I NOW FEEL DUMBER FOR WATCHING IT....

Waste your 6 or 7 bucks at your own risk... I would rather slam my dick in a car door than watch it again... The pace of the movie sucked ass... And the stunts weren't nowhere near what they could have been...

Uhh, no. Count me in too. My front wheel has never intentionally left the ground. A few times with power wheelies, but never on purpose. I have paid WAY to much of my very hard earned money for this bike to be risking it on stunts. Thats what my kids KX60 is for. I laugh at the stunt vidoes that almost always end in shattered bikes - the stupid bastards. They just better hope the next time one of their wheelies goes out of control that I'm not the one they hit - there WILL be hell to pay.
