I was Criticized on this Board by FOF!

FOF (Friends of Frank Adams) for how I handled the work he did or did not do for me. Backing up a step, I agreed to send his the parts that needed work on Tuesday 1/21/03 and he would Place the Block at the rear of the Caliper and make rear adjust on the Aluminum adjustors. He even offered to pay the Shipping both ways. I shipped the parts on Tuesday FedEx 2 day (At my expense)and they were delivered Thursday, 1/23/03. I received a note from FA on Friday the 24th of January that the parts had been received and would be modified and shipped Monday the 27th of January.

To satisfy all of the FOF's, yesterday, Thursday the 30th of January when I got home and still no parts, I sent him a PM. When I had not received a reply by Friday Morning, I posted on his site that He had mail. This afternoon, FA Replied. "The parts are finished, but not shipped yet, Sorry!"I hope that all of the FOF's will now explain how I have now wronged this wonderful person this time and explain just what can you do with part of a Swingarm?

Anyone have a spare Brake Bracket? I think I can machine the Adjusters at a friends Machine Shop! Since I no longer want this arm on my Bike, what am I offered for it? Maybe an FOF can buy it and then FA will send them my parts!

Come on Vincent, custom stuff takes time to do right! It's not like you are going down to NAPA and getting brake shoes for your 82 Impala, eh? Give it a rest!

That snow must be making you crazy!

I think you have a real complaint. If in the verbal contract negotiated between you and FA - the parts would be shipped by the 27th - and when you didn't get them, you had to call him - since he didn't even call you - then shame on him.
But, unfortunately being right will not get you your parts sooner - but being kind might get them put in the mail.
Just because FA isn't a smart bussiness man - doesn't mean he isn't a good machinist.
Let the guy get you the goods and then deside if it was worth the couple of extra days.
Maybe it will turn out it was...

"ENTROPY" First, you made me laugh for the first time about this! Second, do you know me or have we talked or have you talked to my wife?

Short story. When people (Friends & Family) first met my wife, all they ever said was "Poor Peggy". One day in church, we were sitting near the middle aisle when the ministers came in. I could feel something was going on and turned around and the Head Pastor, shook his head and said "Poor Peggy" and started up the aisle

When I was going through 8 Operations and walking on crutches for 3 years, the final doctor that fixed all / most of the mistakes the other doctors had made had a secretary that when se met Peggy said one Poor will just not do and named her "poor poor Peggy"

Last, I was at my favorite Chinese Resturant (where I went on strike once because they did not have a Vegetarian special), where I was talking to the Owner and she looked past me and stated to Peggy, "You must be a saint to put up with him"! At that time, my wife became officially known as "Poor poor Saint Peggy"

SO Entropy, you are correct! The deal is, you have seen my bike and all of the things I have done to it to make her space more comfortable than mine! I know who and How I am! That is why I love her so much and will do anything she wants. Actually, she has very little trouble out of me! I know that I was Blessed to have her and specially a woman that really wants to go fast! (Ask the officials at Maxton, Peggy did all she could to ride with me while racing there!) Plus I have no idea of what she did wrong for God to punish her like this.

I have taken real time while in church today to understand exactly what is was in this case that got me pissed off more that usual. Like all of us, I have had parts that were the wrong size, pieces Missing, parts not finished, parts delivered late, Parts delivered to the wrong Address, Quality not as agreed, Pieces not clean and etc!

What was different in this case is: Frank Adams who assured me that the "Zero" would be about 1/2"(which ended up at 2 1/2"), he has never admititted this! His not mentioning this little detail, makes it look like I did not know what I ordered, or that I got what he promised and it is me that made the mistakes and now he has to fix "My" Mistakes. He even called me a crack head (I looked this up and see that he called someone named "SpeedingTickets" a Crack Head) and I do not even smoke cigaretts or drink Beer. To me, this makes it look like I did not communicate. Of all of the things I have no problem with, it is communication. If he had at anytime stated that he made a mistake, or exchanged his knowledge & Experience for mine, this would have gone a lot easier. He has never admitted to making any mistakes and that is the problem in a nutshell.

Vincent.... Personally from what I have seen of your posts on this subject I don't think you need to do a lot of soul searching in church or for that matter any place else. You purchased a product advertised to be somehting it wasn't. It is unfortunate. As an enthusiast like yourself we invest money, time, energy and frankly passion and emotion in modifying our bikes. When we purchase something I like probably yourself am somewhat like a child on Christmas morning waiting to open up that present. And we are not interested in opening a box with something that is broken, defective or just plain doesn't work.

End of story in my book.

Thanks for the warm welcome. Just thought I'd throw in my nickels worth. Trust me. It isn't easy being a Saint in "this" house! Can you help a sista out?? Thanks for keeping the "fast old man" on the board. It's less time I have to deal with him.

P.S. Don't let him fool you. The MINI S is really MINE! He only gets to drive it for good behavior. Figure the odds on that!!!!

Mrs V! Well I'll be d@mned! Glad to see you on the board!

Entropy, dude, when I read your comment about Saint MrsVinceHill, I burst out laughing man. I was thinking along the same lines!

Vince...brother.......'feel your pain man and unless you're missing riding weather right now (doubt it!), then I agree with the others that you should re-focus on another part of your bike for a few days. Work on something else. Get your mind away from the arm for a couple more days, and when you DO get it back, and check your measurements, then think about selling it.

Either way. Good luck man.

SAINT PEGGY!!!!!! (we KNEW it!)

Now we know the secret to VH's success, and to think that all this time VH has been saying he gets his hp from a step pipe and Bear Stacks...

Hah! It's been the active support of SP all along!

I picture Maxton like this as VH comes up to the line...

starter: "where the hell did that 20mph tailwind come from just now..."

Entropy, Please stop it! Even the initals you use are even accurate? WHo has been talking to you? There are just too many people telling her how "Sweet and innocent" she is! Even when we were in Laguna Nigel California at My Cousin's Wedding, someone called out "poor Peggy"! I have it rough enough in life and home is my only Haven. Please ease up, she may start to believe this stuff one day!

COWBOY!! You have really taken your life into your own hands! I read your post on my thread on FA's board. All I can say is, you are one brave man, you really told it like it was, even before I had figured out what has really pulled my string. Thank you, but do not do that again! I am a fairly good judge of people (After all, I found my wife didn't I?) Do not say another word in my support, he will take it out on you one day. He will still do the correct work, but he will delay shipping or leave something undone at the perfect wrong time. He will pay you back. Truth and reason have no place there. I personally owe you for that also and thanks again. It was really appreciated.

Bergie, I also saw your posts there and at the time you posted, it was really bitter, because it was prior to this stage. Again Thank you.

Angie (AKA Saint Angie Junior) what can I say. Trying to raise two children (Your Husband and myself) waaay too brave. There are even some of my family members that are not that brave!

There are also others that have sent me e-mails on this second deal that were 100% against me on my first post (Yes, I could have done it differently, but I would have needed to change my name and become a different person) . I appreciate what you said and offered also

Last, ZHoo! You nailed it. Kids and their toys at Christmas. Like a lot of things, we live and we learn. I told Angie that I really had a "Gut" Feeling about FA and had never met him or knew anything about him. In the future, I will do things differently on all of these type of problems. I will not call the person, but will e-mail them. That way, I can re write what I say as many times and take as much time as I need to say what needs to be said First Then depending on what they say or do proceed as usual. If they are jerks, it will only waste a few days, if they are real, then everyone will know in the end anyway!

For now, he is supposed to ship Monday. On Wednesday if not received, Phase Three! It will not be on any boards, but more like dealing with same state and Government agencies. It will be "Permanent". I also cannot let go and will finish the Job once started.

If it doesn't come on Wed, just have SaintPeggy call up a bolt of lightning, directed at the tardy supplier's ass.

She DOES have "connections", eh? Being a Saint and all. Ask her to direct that lightning strike on someone else's butt if you know what I mean!
