Wrong Tire, need opinions!!

I ordered a 200/50ZR17 BT010 from Arizona Motorsports. They shipped me a 200/50ZR17 (75w) BT020 .

I know that the 020 is a more sport tour oriented tire. Has anyone ran this tire on their 12R?

It looks like it would have better wet traction with the more numerous rain grooves, and the grooves appear to be a couple of 1/32" deeper.

I wouldn't mind trying it if it has decent grip. I know the 020 works well on ZX11's , just wondering how it would be on the 12.

If it has decent traction it would be a good rear for the Laguna trip, cuz I can't get there and back on a 010, even when leaving home with a freshly mounted new one.

I am not a super aggressive rider, just like to move along at a decent pace. Tip the bike in the corners a bit, but always have a 1/8" chicken strip or so.

Have to decide to ship it back or keep it, hmmmm what do I do???

I've got 020's on my ZZR. They offer decent grip, and the mileage would be great for your trip down to Laguna. Just think, once you get down there, you'll prolly have plenty of tread left to afford a few rolling smoke shows for the little folks, before heading back up.

I am going to keep it for the trip. I dont know about a refund, the 200/50ZR17 isnt listed in the aftermarket catalogue as far as I can tell. It appears to still be an OEM replacement for the Yamaha Road Warrior. IF so, then the price on this tire is far more than I paid. If not, then I'll pursue the refund. I looked on the website where I bought it and they don't list this tire.

Thanks for the advice guys.

I'd call and ask them what they would sell you a 020 for. Then with that info you can elect to either keep it or ask for a return. I doubt they are going to sell tires at OEM prices unles they want to go into another business.

After going through five million 010s I Have toyed with the idea of a 020 but always end up buying more 010s.

Guess I like the mileage the 020 gives.... but seems like it belongs on a Goldwing or something.

Hey wormy, dem der beetle bags could actually come in handy. Think they might make good "crash bars". Heck they might even keep those tabs on the tail section that you keep breakin protected. ROFLOL.
